Wow. You know, the Gallagher brothers generally make my shitlist for celebrity tools, but if that pediatric cancer story is true, then that's pretty classy. Have they classed up their act recently? Seems like I have been hearing a lot of positive gossip on them lately.

Yeah if that quote by one of those Gallagher boys is actually based on trueness, it is massively awesome. Too often celebrities use their fame to grandstand for whatever cause they are into. I don't mind that people have opinions, it's a free country and such. BUT when a celebrity uses every SINGLE public event they are at to preach and try to convert people to their beliefs, it slowly graduates to annoying, then tiresome, then so flat out irritating that I just stop listening.
And if the Gallagher boys had the temerity to say it flat out to fug and fish, more power to them.

I don't know if this qualifies as a "celebrity" quote...but I thought it pretty smart:
From the BBC website: Props and sets from the Wallace and Gromit films have been destroyed in a warehouse blaze. The storage building belonging to Oscar-winning Aardman Animations, contained the company's "entire history", a spokesman said.

Aw. That's a really kind/sweet way to put it. I felt so bad for them when I heard about the fire-- but it helps that their movie was number one.

Once I read an article about Peter Sarsgaard, and the interviewer was asking about his movie Shattered Glass, and didn't that just give Stephen Glass exactly what he wanted, which was more fame and attention? The 'Gaard answers: "Giving it to him is not such a big deal. To me fame is empty. It's like handing him nothing." Hooray! Please keep this up!

A few decent ones from Val Kilmer:
and
Even the actors know they aren't chosen for roles for their talent. It all depends on how much attention you can draw to yourself, on whether you'll get the meaty parts or not.
Anyone that says CTC is delusional is A-OK in my book.

Considering how seriously [and might I add horribly] he played the role [to the point that I cannot watch just about ANY movie with Val Kilmer], I don't agree with that being a "good quote".
That said, I cannot stay away from any movie that has a Shane Black connection.

A couple of pages back, I mentioned hearing a second hand story about a quote from one of the Gallagher boys from Oasis. About Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow at a Pediatric Cancer Foundation fundraiser and their bringing up the war during it. Well, I've now found the exact quote:
"When Coldplay did this gig, they banged on the war, that's wrong. If him and his gawky bird want to go on banging about the war, they can do it at their own gigs. That lot are just a bunch of knobhead students. Chris Martin looks like a geography teacher." By Liam Gallagher
I actually burst out laughing at the geography teacher crack, but Chris Martin actually does look like one of my old high school teachers. Except I actually liked my old teacher. This quote makes me want to dig out my old Oasis CD. Liam and Noel Gallagher may be complete idiots otherwise, but this quote is hysterical.
ETA - I believe Liam also made some crack about how pediatric cancer patients have bigger things to worry about than the beliefs of Chris Martin and his "gawky bird", but I couldn't dig up that part.

And you just know, in the Martin household, that was the part that had Gwhiney enraged.
"Gawky bird?! I'm a style icon!"
I've never been an Oasis fan but that quote by Liam is brilliant.
