My favorite Michael Caine quote was when some reporter asked if he had actually seen one of the many crap movies he's made in the past. His response: "No, but I've seen the house that it built, and it's fantastic."

Wow. Do you think we could get Michael Caine to sit Russell Crowe down and explain to him the benefit of prostituting yourself out artistically every once in a while?

That is awesome. It is so refreshing to see some honesty in Hollywood.

Michael Caine has always struck me as a straight shooter who doesn't take himself too seriously. I've always loved him as an actor, thanks to these posts I love him more as a person too. Wish Hollywood had more people like him.

It's not exactly a smart quote (owing to the stunning inarticulousness), but it is awfully nice to hear someone with a high profile in hip hop speak out against homophobia, even if it is Kanye West. The link is to Salon so you may have to watch an ad.

Anderson Cooper, the newsman we know and love on going g(r)ay:"Going gray is like ejaculation. You know it can happen prematurely, but when it actually does, it's a total shock." I could help you with that problem, you know. Wow, I checked the archives and in an article on how no one takes vacations anymores but celebrities, but that's part of their job, he writes: "Do you think Al Reynolds enjoys smearing suntan lotion on Star Jones like butter on a lobster at a Jamaican resort?" He's SO one of us. Come to the boards, Anderson.

Aww, I guess Anderson won't be on The View anytime soon. Alton Browns Rants and Raves section is usally good for something on point, like this quote from July: He had a good one about Paris Hilton and Dr. Phil, but it seems to have been bumped from the page, and I can't find it.

I read somewhere the one of the Gallagher boys from Oasis told Chris Martin and the Fish to leave their anti - war politics out of a fundraiser for pediatric Cancer. I don't remember the exact quote but it was something along the lines of the kids with cancer have enough to fight that they don't need those two twits telling them what to believe about the war. And that a fundraiser for Cancer should be about fighting cancer with all other politics left at the front door. I never really liked the Gallagher boys before, but now, I think perhaps there's a brain in there somewhere.

Channeling Andy Rooney:
Did you ever notice....that the celebrity dumb quotes thread is 4 times longer than the celebrity smart quotes thread?
