This was mentioned by John Boy's Mole (heh) in the Hugh Jackman thread, but I think it is appropriate for this thread as well:

I thought I'd resurrect this thread for Eminem's (spokesperson's) sake. On rumors that lesbian puppets in his new video resemble the Olsen twins:

This is Morgan Freeman explaining why he agreed to do Batman Begins:
Know why I like that? It is so refreshing to hear an actor come right out and admit they're doing a commercial film for the money. I've noticed lately a lot of actors claim they're doing it for their kids or future kids, or that they've always had a secret dream to be in a super-hero movie. I love it they he just said, "It's the money."
(Speaking of which - and I know this isn't the type of celeb we talk about here - just this morning they were interviewing the daughter of the guy who turns out to be Deep Throat from Watergate. She was the one who talked him into revealing himself. I was fully expecting her to give the reason that "The American people have a right to know" or "I wanted him to have a chance to tell his story." No, she pressured him into identifying himself because he'd make money that would put his grand-kids through college. She admitted this quite cheerfully and I just had to silently applaud her!)

I agree, at least when it's Morgan Freeman. I remember Harrison Ford saying the same thing years ago and it wasn't quite as charming. Somehow I wanted to hear that being Indiana Jones and Jack Ryan was fun and profitable.
As far as Deep Throat's family, I can't agree. Prodding your 91 year-old father who has had a stroke into revealing his identity so you can cash in is crass as hell.

I wonder what his daughter will say after someone (probably one of Nixon's angry cronies) ensures Dad has a debilitating 'accident.'

Eeek! I'd go back and delete that part of my post, but then nobody would understand what the following 3 posts were talking about! Let's just say, "Point taken." I guess I was admiring the daughter's honesty and not thinking at all about poor Throat!
