Well if it helps, I think a lot of my Zen like calm comes from channeling my inner competitive beast into things I am good at instead of things I can never win at (like being the skinniest). Ice hockey? Now I can kick ass at that.

Calista Flockhart is interviewed in the Times today, and claims she's never had any kind of eating disorder and that she weighs the same today as she did here. Sad.

That is very sad. Eating disorders are very persistent mental illnesses, though, and I've known many sufferers who've gone without treatment and spent their entire lives in denial. Calista seems to have done the same.

I remember years ago seeing Calista Flockhart in some movie about bulemia. The irony? She had more meat on her bones, and looked better in the movie then she did on Ally McBeal.

I saw that movie too! I'm pretty sure she is in denial too, but then with everyone else around you looking like that, I suppose it would normalize it.

Maybe she knows she weighs more now and she's just lying about it. All it takes is one look at her face to know she weighs more. Her face is fuller. She looks good.

Regis and Kelly came back from Christmas break this morning. Kelly reported that she didn't gain any weight during the holidays. I wonder how often she's been weighing herself since her injury.

Remember how everyone thought Calista looked so disgusting in that photo but yet it spawned the great actress starve off. She certainly ushered in the lollipop look that Hollywood still worships today.

Regis and Kelly came back from Christmas break this morning. Kelly reported that she didn't gain any weight during the holidays.

Was she joking? I hope so. Most people gain at least a pound or two during the holidays and the only way to avoid that is to workout like a fiend and deny youself holiday treats. It's not worth it, though I suppose it's possible Kelly only treated herself on Christmas and stuck to her diet the rest of the days. Still not worth it IMO. I know this because I tried and failed that tactic. Life is too short to stress yourself about 2 pounds that you can work off later anyway!

I don't watch the show very much, but it seems like every time I do, Kelly is "joking" about gaining weight. It's not funny that often, or when you're skin and bones.
