They have protein, and the fat sates your hunger. As long as you don't eat tons of peanuts, they're actually pretty good for you -- but you're supposed to eat other stuff with them!

I don't get the peanut diet. There are other kinds of nuts that are healhier. Peanuts, cashews, and macadamia nuts have way more fat in them than pecans or walnuts, for example.

I found this really unnerving: Bonnie Wright, 17, of the Harry Potter films. A day without eating? Would 10 days even be possible without collapsing?

I once worked with a guy who was Indian who, as part of a cultural ritual (I think I remember that correctly), fasted for 10 days. I don't believe he collapsed but he certainly wasn't able to function very well.

I once had a very bad case of food poisoning combined with a bad hangover and I think I went 36 hours without eating. I can't imagine going 10 days. I think my body would start to resorb my toes.

I get shaky if I skip even A meal - ten days without eating? Would be a disaster.

I once went about 5 days without eating. That was because I had my wisdom teeth out. Constantly swallowing blood by accident + Bad reaction to anesthesia = I'm going to barf to death.
But by choice? For 10 days? She was doing the Master Cleanse, right? I know people swear by it, but I can't see how it's safe. Although I do hope it was MC, because that's a wee bit better than nothing at all. Just a wee bit.

Wasn't Gwyneth on the Master Cleanse when she was taken to the hospital a few months ago? For someone who's already on a macrobiotic diet, I would think she'd be pretty clean to begin with.

Some years ago I was down for a week due to a severe primary infection of the herpes simplex virus, yup, cold sores. It meant I couldn't eat properly, mere swallowing would hurt. I did not like the fact that I could not eat at all. I was cranky, lethargic and just not pleasant to be around.
After this hellish week I remember I got to eat a bowl of just white rice. I was more than elated to be able to do so. Choosing to not eat for 10 days is just ridiculous IMO.

According to Jolly Jolie, she's just thin from chasing 4 kids around. Uugghh. Every female celebrity who has kids uses this excuse. "Oh, I lost forty pounds and my ribs are sticking out and my head is a lollipop because I'm always chasing after my two-year-old." What are these kids, Olympic-level runners? It's such a stupid excuse. I think they just don't want to admit that they have the free time to work out 2+ hours a day and/or are genetically lucky. It's part of the "celebs are just like us" schtick they try to pull to seem relatable/ likeable.
