The same thing happened to Leonardo DiCaprio. Weird. I think it's an optical illusion. Their features appear to be closer together because there's so much empty face surrounding them. Around here, we call that syndrome "too much head, not enough face"...

I've just been calling it "DiCaprio Forehead" when a guy has a young looking face but his head is aging quickly. Justin Timberlake is getting a touch of it, too.

All I think of is Wings' "Antonio Scarpacci" and his girlfriend with the big moon face ('around her face is more face')

Anne Hathaway has the opposite of that....too much face, not enough head. They (she and Leonardo) should switch features.

Maybe this should be in the Celebrity Endowments thread, but... Although I don't watch Mad Men, I thought Jon Hamm was hysterical and charming on 30 Rock and SNL. He's also very handsome, in a traditional kind of way. I just don't think his cock is as big as people claim it is. The term Hammaconda is nonsensical. He's average. He just doesn't wear underwear, and people are aware of his johnson. Maybe I've been spoiled IRL, but he's catalog material, not pornstar material. ETA: To be even more controversial, I don't get the appeal of Joshua Jackson. I don't think he's as handsome, or charming as people have made him out to be. I don't think he's the "ideal boyfriend". He was annoying as Pacey, and I think he has Dicaprio disease: Big ass little boy head, on grown man body. {ducks for cover}

The way I see it, people are very aware of the average-or-greater genitals of a handsome man, so perhaps it's 'whole is greater than the sum of its parts' situation.
And joining you on the Joshua Jackson list--he's not appealing, and I have no nostalgic or cerebral attachment to his work. My vet has similar features and is more attractive.

Joshua Jackson was cute in a "hey, he's young" kind of way, but his face sort of became all doughy and unremarkable when he started aging. On the other hand, I think Van Der Beek has gotten better looking with age. Never thought JVDB was that good looking on Dawson's Creek.
