Joshua Jackson has a heavy, Neanderthal brow bone that I find a huge turnoff.

Jensen Ackles does nothing for me. I keep hearing how gorgeous and hot he is, and all I see is jug ears, crowsfeet, bowlegs, too-big eyes, a crooked nose and a mouth like a vulva.

I don't watch Supernatural, but beyond your apt description, he reminds me of Sasha Michel (Cody in Step by Step) which begs the question, "What ever happened to Sacha Michel?"

Domestic violence charges out the wazoo. He can stay under whatever rock he crawled under. On the Jensen Ackles tip, I actually think he's a very very pretty man. But that werid cult like mindset that happens in certain fandoms rose up around his prettiness where he's suddenly touted as the MOST gorgeous, perfect being ever to live in the history of EVAR!!!! Erm, not quite. He was born with good genes, people! He hasn't cured cancer with his pretty! The bowlegged thing cracks me up. Esp. in this video. Heh.

I think Ackles at one time looked like the London twins little brother. I think he is pretty even with that description above.
Sasha Mitchell's now ex-wife was the abusive one (drugs), iirc, and he did end up with custody of his kids and charges were dropped.
The other very pretty man whose status as a heart-throb I don't get is Matt Bomer. He's kinda boring, to me.

Going back a ways. Quite a ways, but GoldenEye was on and it reminded me that I have never understood Minnie Driver's appeal. I don't find her particularly attractive, nor does she seem to be especially witty, charming, pleasant, funny or anything else but she was getting leading lady roles. Crazy thing was that even though she always struck me as an ordinary woman type, she doesn't even seem to be a very special 'ordinary woman.' She seems like the one of the other moms on my kids team that I'm perfectly okay with not talking to or getting to know at all.
Famke Jansen in that same movie- was stunning. Crazy but stunning.

Also, while I can sort of understand his appeal on paper, I've personally never found Hugh Jackman attractive.

Re: Minnie Driver.
I adore her. And I can point directly to her performances in "Circle of Friends" and "Grosse Point Blank".
I also have two of her albums. Pleasant enough folkie singer/songwriter stuff, but Nanci Griffith has nothing to worry about.

You have reminded me that sometimes I need to go out of my way to get to know that mom- maybe what I don't see in her is some of what I myself am insecure about. Thanks rat.
