I wasn't a frequent viewer of The West Wing, but he always seemed like a cool guy and a talented actor. His passing is really a shame, he was too young.

He was pretty great in everything I've seen him in. R.I.P.

This hurts me. Leo McGarry/John Spencer was the backbone of this show! He was like the voice of calm and moral wisdom whenever someone else would be acting crazily (i.e Josh, Bartlet). He was one of those actors who, when you see his name appear in the opening credits of something you think, "Ok, maybe this movie won't be too bad then". This is how Bartlet must have felt when Mrs. Landingham died. R.I.P

How sad. The West Wing won't be the same without him. Neither will the world.
RIP, John.

Aw...what a sad, sad shock. He was such a class act on and off the screen. He will be deeply missed - RIP.

So sad, he was too young. I wish there was a way we could express our condolences other than a message board.

My agent was his personal assistant for a few years. I just sent him an email sayiing how sorry I was, and that John was beloved and respected by many people. What a talent, and genuinely a very nice man--I remember him giving me and my friends great advice about the business when we were wee chicks right out of college.
