Heh. Seriously.
According to Nikki Finke's blog, it seems like they are making some progress and things may even be resolved before Christmas.
God, I hope so. I hate reality programming so much and I know that is what will flood their airwaves if the writers don't go back to work. And the strike is really hurting the "little people" on tv and movie sets - crew members, PAs, etc. I know some people are trying to help (like the cast of 30 Rock put on a live performance of one of their episodes and gave all the proceeds to the PAs on their show) but it can't make up for not having a paycheck, and this is a really crappy time of the year to be broke.

Oh please, God, Jesus, Buddah, Allah, Santa, end this strike soon. Let the producers be inspired by the story of the Grinch, actually grow hearts, and give the WGA what they deserve.

Though I watch I Love New York with a near-religious fervor, I can't stand Reality Television, either. The only upside to the strike, from a piratey-consumer perspective, is that it allows those rat-bastards who download content to catch up on all the shows they've accumulated but haven't yet watched. Thankfully, I don't know any of those kind of people because they're bad and wrong. And bad. Edited to add: Looks like Carson Daly is Scabby McScabberson. And here's me thinking there were never any writers for Daly in the first place.

I blame the writers strike for the return of "American Gladiator". There, I said it.
I am so pleased to hear a resolution is near, hopefully our TV season won't be cut too terribly short this year.

My fiancé is getting laid off by the production company his friends started that he helped build, all because of the strike. He'll work until Christmas, and then he's done.
It's going to be a rough holiday.

I'm sorry, Knobby. A friend of ours (an animator and director) lost the TV show he was working on, too. This sucks.

My boss' brother in law does makeup for Grey's Anatomy and they are down to their last savings because of this.
Godspeed to get this over with for the writers.
My question: I want to buy 2 things: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Lost: Season 3. I just want to make sure that the writers of these will actually get something out of my purchase. I'm okay with buying these, right?
