Ever wonder how some product made it onto the market with that name? Good heavens! What were the marketing folks thinking? For example, Toyota markets a performance package on some of their trucks that refers to their Toyota Racing Division. Unfortunately, models with that package have a big TRD on their flanks. Didn't anybody in marketing anticipate that this would be referred to as the TuRD package? Here's another marketing gaffe[/color].

Wow. That's unfortunate.
I always thought the name of the hair removal product, "Nads" was kind of a bad move.

Wow. That's unfortunate. I always thought the name of the hair removal product, "Nads" was kind of a bad move. IIRC, Nads was called Nads because the woman who founded the company first starting making her products for her hairy daughter, Nadia, whom they called Nads as a nickname. Still, I would have gone with Nadia rather than Nads. Gonads, nads, gonads, nads. And now the whole world knows that poor Nadia is/was hairy! We have a cheese here in Australia called "Coon" which is also a nasty word for indigenous Australians. It's kind of like saying the n-word. I'm amazed it hasn't been rebranded.

Not a product but I have to wonder, after snickering at repeated emails sent to all employees about getting "STD coverage", if they might want to rename "Short Term Disability" benefits or at least never abbreviate it.

I always thought the name of the hair removal product, "Nads" was kind of a bad move. The motorcycle I ride is a Kawasaki Nomad (apt name for a touring bike), but a lot of Nomad owners refer to them as Nads (a shortening similar to bosun for boatswain). Nomad is short enough by itself, IMO.

Not a name but godawful copywriting for a pair of lace up bronw boots: "These amazing lace-up boots take their inspiration from glamour to create a look that's inspiring, yet totally wearable."
wtf?? Hire copywriters who speak english.
