Hehehe...if only Bertie weren't so dead-set against matrimony and women in general. True --I guess he doesn't need a wife when he's got Jeeves! I'd just have to try and keep them apart while the infatuation lasts...but that'd be like breaking up Romeo and Juliet, wouldn't it?

I'm a million years behind everyone, but I finished Pride & Prejudice last night and am in love with Mr. Darcy as well. In fact, I had to stop myself from skimming any time he wasn't in the book. So, what cinematic version should I watch first? Should I jump right into the BBC one?

Yeah, the BBC version is the best.

I stand corrected, Auroranorth! I thought Sid was the only dude to make a repeat appearance (Whip Hand is a classic). And you're right about the love scenes, kanding. I read an interview (or a report of an interview) with Dick where he said that he knew the Queen Mum enjoyed his books, so he tried to "keep it clean" for her. Or maybe he just sucked at writing love scenes. Or his wife Mary did, if you ascribe to that theory.... Those love scenes clunked like lead.

Big, big crush on Charles Fraser from the regency/thriller/romance Daughter of the Game by Tracy Grant. (Has anyone besides me ever heard of this book? The same copy always seems to be available whenever I go to the library!)

Which reminds me of the literary crush I had in eighth grade when my class was reading April Morning and I felt so bad for Adam Cooper.

Other than Almanzo Wilder, I think Shadrach Yale of Across Five Aprils was one of my first literary crushes.

I loved that book, monkey. I read it with my 7th grade class one year.
