*cough*Morpheus from the Sandman comics.*cough* What? What?!Don't be ashamed, I'm there with you. Again, emotionally unavailable men do it for me. That way, I can get the lovin' but I don't have to take them home with me.

I've always been faithful to my first literary crush, Arthur Dent. When they made The Hitchhiker's Guide into a movie I was thrilled by the casting of Tim from the British Office... but he turned out all wrong. I always wanted to comfort poor, confused Arthur, stranded in space in his bathrobe - even after he grew the beard with the bone in it.
(Ok - so maybe I haven't always been faithful, because I was nodding in agreement to the earlier mentions of Sherlock Holmes and Bertie Wooster.)

I'm reading The Odyssey for class and I have a crush on Odysseus, despite the fact that he pretty much flirted and slept his way around the Mediterranean. Based on this and my Iago crush, I think I like men who are good with words and can talk their way out of a tight situation.
Edited because I forgot: Owen Vannice from John Kessel's Corrupting Dr. Nice. An innocent, nerdy paleontologist who could do anything he wanted with his fortune but chooses to spend it in the Cretaceous researching dinosaurs...siiiiigh.

I've been rereading Phil Rickman's Merrily Watkins series and my crush on Lol Robinson has been heartily resurrected. He's a shy musician who writes songs like Nick Drake! How can you not want to cuddle with him and then do all sorts of naughty things with him!

I watched a film version of Anne of Green Gables the other day and it brought back my childhood crush on Gilbert Blythe. I also had a literary crush on Laurie from Little Women and on The Scarlet Pimpernel from the book by that same title. But my strangest literary crush? Aslan from the Narnia Chronicles. What? WHAT?! He was human to me, really he was.

That's okay, Kafka. I had a crush on the Black Stallion. I did too in a way. It wasn't a crush, per se, but just absolute and immediate awe, adoration, veneration, and the desire to just hug or stroke his amazingly sleek, powerful, ebony body.<ahem>Really? What an odd crush to have..... *slinks away to hide*

I just wanted to be Alec, really.
I oscillate between having a crush on Rochester from Jane Eyre and thinking he's a complete manipulative bastard.
