Ah, you're just jealous that you didn't have a kid kit.

oh man. That author used to really churn these suckers out, didn't she? I remember being so excited every month when a new book would come out. My favorite was probably the vacation super special when they took a cruise.
oooh and remember Dawn's "haunted" house? So cool.

My favorite boyfriend in the books was Sam Thomas with Stacey. HE was such a cool older man! I loved that relationship, and the super special where they all stayed at the enormous lake house Watson inherited or something is when Stacey and Sam hooked up. Made my teenaged self swoon.

Most of the books were ghostwritten razzy. That was a crushing blow to my childhood when I found that out.
I too adored Sam and Stacey. Sam at least had a sense of humour unlike most of the girls in the series. In my head they get married and live in a fabulous apartment in New York. Yeah, my head can be a scary place to be.
The haunted passageway always amused me because Dawn would fake haunt it all the time to scare the girls/girl. How many times would you fall for that? I can remember Mary Anne being tricked by Dawn the Ghost at least twice.

Remember when Stacey was kicked out for daring to have a life and friends outside of that incestuous little cult?

I always had kind of a crush on Sam...I thought he was too good for Stacey. She had no sense of humor!

I loved this thread at the other board! I used to own so many of the BSC books and just started to read them over again. They are so addicting, and you can read like 10 in a day if you really wanted to. I didn't realize what bitches the girls were until now. I couldn't believe how mean they would be to someone in the club if they dared to make friends outside the BSC.

This was my favourite thread on the other board as well. It made me start rereading all my old BSC books.
I've just reread a load of the really early books (like Dawn and the impossible 3 ) and they really are much better written.
I didn't know about the ghost writers until the thread on that other board. I didn't want to believe it. But now i must accept it is true.

I loved all the Super Specials. My favorite was when they were putting on the play of Peter Pan, with Kristy in the lead (I think she originally wanted to be Nana the dog) What annoyed me about the book was how the evil popular girl seemed to have nothing on her mind except plaguing the Babysitters. Like someone so popular would even care.
I hated Karen though. I don't know quite why.

My love for the BSC series was rekindled when I read this thread. Those books were total 9-year old crack. But even then I could see how whacked out the "club" really was. Friends outside the club? You're out! Get a haircut without consulting the rest of the club? Shunned!
