Heh. I've just been given a lifetime ban from eHell for starting a thread asking for advice on how to handle people in my music group acting like it's not a big deal that another member just got convicted for possessing indecent images of children. Apparently any mention of pedophilia is banned because it could potentially lead to arguments. Even though that forum does hardly anything but viciously argue with each other. And the thread I started was pages and pages of nothing but sympathy and understanding where every one was in total agreement. I am banned from even reading the site! IP address ban, not just my own account being deleted! Bit of an overreaction, don't you think? Shame they don't realise I have a dynamic IP address (well, on my work PC at least.) Not only do I applaud your sense of justice, I am in awe of your ban. Slow clap, tszuj. |

WOAH!! I just got an email from someone on eHell I was good friends with - eHellDame hacked into some private message conversations I had with another poster, posted my PMs into a public thread (carefully edited and taken out of context), and made a massive rant about me on the forum. I notice she waited several days until she thought I couldn't see her posts anymore in order to do so.
What a nutcase! No wonder so many posters have left.
(Sorry for double post - several days have passed since last post.)

Beyond shitty, criminal. It is the ugliest part of Internet forum participation. Just WTF do people think when they broach privacy issues like this? With virtual and literal strangers? Can we send BAD vibes as well?

Wow. Did the other posters understand that she hacked into your personal messages? Because if I were ever on a forum where I learned that happened, I would delete all my PMs* and resign from the board.
*I wonder if the mods can still read the messages on forum boards even if the PMs have been deleted. If I've learned anything after 20+ years online, it is that I should never assume something is gone just because I've deleted it.
