Thanks everyone for all your suggestions and opinions. I am making notes and prioritizing my Romance TBR list!
Have a bunch of Balogh and the Bromance in some stacks of paperbacks that are toppling over, next to the Bridgertons.
Looking forward to those long winter nights with a cup of tea and a smutty romance! And cookies!

piscessiren have you read The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne? I recently finished that one and it was super steamy!

I just started The Boxing Baroness by Minerva Spencer. Apparently the character is based on a real person. So far I'm enjoying it.

Ladybug, thanks for the Kerrigan Byrne suggestion! The audiobooks have been entertaining me while I work. You weren't kidding about *steamy*. Luckily I'm self employed and my windows are closed because of the season, otherwise I'd have to be concerned about neighbor's overhearing the audio!
I'm reminded of the bodice rippers of the '80s and '90s, but with a LOT more consent and feminine agency.

Abby Jimenez is my new favorite modern romance writer: "Eight thousand nerves in the clitoris and still not as sensitive as a white man not getting his way.”

Abby Jimenez is my new favorite modern romance writer: "Eight thousand nerves in the clitoris and still not as sensitive as a white man not getting his way.” Abby is hilarious. If you're not following her on social media, you should. She owns some cupcake bakeries here in the Twin Cities, and won Cupcake Wars a while back. The Vageode Cake Incident was of the funniest things to appear on social media in the past few years.

Julie Garwood has passed away. I read EVERYTHING by her! Started with the romances and then she switched to contemporaries, while still romances, were more mystery/FBI. I loved the touches of humor she inserted into her work. Sadly, I found out about it on another message board that I very rarely go into, but I was bored and was clicking around the site. There’s been no news of it on mainstream sites 😢 I never would have known otherwise. I found out about Johanna Lindsey’s death at a library book sale and chatting with someone about our favorite authors.

Curious if anyone has read the Bridgerton novels. I heard about the TV series and binge watched it on Netflix over a few days. I was wondering if anyone here has read the novels and would they recommend or not recommend.

Julia Quinn is wildly popular in my public library, we can hardly keep her books on the shelf. Regency isn't really my bag for romance but they get good reviews from others.
