Get Fuzzy rules! Sachel reminds me so much of one of my dogs that whenever Bucky gives Satchel shit, I have to hug Buddy. Which is pretty much every morning.
I think Buckles is a riot as well. The only thing I hate is whenever the writer puts Buckles in danger. Yeah I know he's going to live but as a major animal lover I can't take the stress lol.

I like Family Circus, too. It's not funny--never was--but it's just too earnestly wholesome for me to hate, and I've always thought the kids were cutely drawn. (For some reason, when I was a kid, I could not stand PJ. I have no idea why.)
Cathy is horrible, but I continue to read it. I have always despised Irving and do not think those two pathetic souls actually love each other. It's a marriage born of resignation (Irving) and desperation (Cathy). If this strip followed real time, Cathy would be, like, 55 now... and yet, her poor mother still seems to think that there is hope for grandchildren.
I love Pearls Before Swine (one of the few really clever comics right now), and I kinda like Fox Trot and Zits. I can't stop reading FBOFW, no matter how awful it gets, because I've got to keep up with the thread here.

I think that for some reason, strips that aren't funny keep running just because they've been there for so long. Probably 98 per cent of the comics pages are made up of strips that have been running for at least 10 years: Adam, Cathy, Family Circus, FBoFW, Sally Forth, Marmaduke, Dennis the Menace, Peanuts, Garfield, etc.
So why can't they get rid of them? Will people complain? Are the artists under 10-year contracts? Will the artists sue or something if they stop running the strips because they're no longer funny? Is it just that they're too afraid to venture outside the mainstream? I think there's a HUGE happy medium between Family Circus and, say, Red Meat, and that happy medium is FULL of appropriate, "family-friendly" (though Doonesbury is certainly not family friendly in that it's boring as hell for kids) comics they could run that are actually funny.
I'll admit I like Fox Trot.
Oh, and I've actually met someone my age (early 20s) who likes Cathy. Because this girl had an eating disorder and Cathy reminded her that everyone hates their bodies or something. Great message!

Me too. It's not that I find it funny but at the end of each strip it almost always makes me think, "Awwww"-- like an Americas Funniest Home Videos with a really cute baby and puppy.
I also like Fox Trot and Peanuts. I guess I'm just a comics geek.
I can't stand For Better or Worse. I used to feel it was my obligation to read all of the Sunday funnies, and I always dreaded that one most. My current policy is that I don't read any comics in which the font makes me want to pluck out my eyes.
There you have it--I like the comics with the most legible font.

I used to love For Better or For Worse, but it has sucked for a long time now.
One of my favorite comics now is Clear Blue Water. I like the biting humor and dialogue between Eve & Manny. I think it's a very funny strip.

Anyone see the Pearls Before Swine swipe at Baby Blues?
Well in Baby Blues' Sunday's strip, there is a dead croc stuck in the vaccuum. Glad to know the creator of BB wasn't pissed.

No, the 2 cartoonists are friendly and both of them got a kick out of the cross over.
That whole story arc was a hoot!

More Pearls Before Swine croc crossover with Get Fuzzy. I know I am repeating myself, but I just love those crocs. Are there any stuffed animal versions out there because I want one of dose?

Is Darby Conley running out of ideas, or just getting lazy? First he spends over a week on the "booger" plotline, and now he is superimposing Satchel's head on the current run of Pearls strips.
Still, I'm interested to see where this storyline goes - there needs to be some type of punchline to wrap the crossover up.
ETA: Almost missed the Ashlee Simpson poster in the background where Stephan Patsis is talking on the phone in today's Get Fuzzy.

I don't know why Darby is running the crossover stories, and I can see where it might even get annoying but damnit I love those crocs. I have croc fever this month and todays strip(s) put me over the edge. Hippy crocs people! It doesn't get funnier than that IMO.
Alll me ees saaayin' ees geeve peece a chaaaance. Hysterical.
God I need help.
