I have to give this thread a bump (first one in 2.5 years!) b/c The Harlequinn was in the bargain bin at Barnes & Noble for $5, so I thought, eh, why not? (There were several of her titles in the bargain area, actually.) I bought it almost 2 weeks ago, and I'm barely halfway through it. It's boring, it's cringeworthy, and I have yet to see my two favorite characters appear (Jason and Asher). WTH happened to Richard? I liked him a lot back in the day; now he's a jealous sexual sadist??? And I like how everyone treats him like he's a crazy asshole b/c he doesn't like the fact that the woman he wanted to marry is sleeping with 8+ other men at the same time. I stand by my earlier post: Hamilton has now created a thoroughly unlikeable protagonist and expects the readership to buy what she's selling.

Someone mentioned Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files a few pages back; now there's an excellent supernatural mystery series. It has humor, heart, three-dimensional characters, and--gasp!--actual plots. Also, Jim Butcher's self-deprecation and kindness toward fans is a far cry from Hamilton's persona.

ETA: I picked up The Harlequinn again and Sylvvie, Richard's second, said, "I don't do women." Ok, I know it's been a while since I read the books, but wasn't Sylvvie a lesbian? I was pretty sure her gf was mentioned in some of the earlier books. WTF-ever, LKH.

Richard was based on LKH's exhusband, so when she left him Richard turned into an asshat of the first order. One of her bigdicked dudes is based on her current, but I can't remember which one.

Bumping LKH because I downloaded the last two Merry Gentry books on my Kindle just to see how the old girl is doing. I'm about a third of the way through the first one, and so far:

Merry has sex in the ocean with one of her Skittles, and spawns a fairy mound to spontaneously create in the form of a large building in Los Angeles. (That type of construction will just ruin the local industry.) Then she has sex with a skittle guard named Ive and causes his hair to turn into actual Ivy strands, which he uses to bind her up for some rough nookie. Then she has sex with another skittle guard and creates a cherry blossom tree which blooms on the beach. During all of this she is still pregnant. (Seriously, how long is the fairy gestation period? It's been frikkin' years!)

So yeah... chick is still banging stuff into existence, just with the power of her magical coochie.

I gave up on Boinking Her Way To The Throne years ago. I needed a chart to figure out who she was boffing each day.
