Violin made me give up on her for a few years, too, but I'm about halfway through Blackwood Farm right now, and really enjoying it. It has its squicky parts, but it's actually coherent and not filled with rambling purple prose.

I'm reading Interview to fill the void that's been left now that I'm caught up on the Southern Vampire Mysteries. I don't think I've actually read it before, but I did listen to it on CD and, ashamedly, I am enjoying it.

Yeesh! I have a copy of that book, but I never really got past the first few pages. Now I'm glad I didn't! Oh it is truly horrible. It's like every bad Phantom of the Opera fan fic put together, only by Anne Rice.

Blackwood Farm was alright, but the final book Blood Canticle was one of the worst, sucky Anne Rice books ever. I also must voice my disgust at what a pretentious no-talent waste of space her son is. His awful books would have never been published if it weren't for the family name.

Blood Canticle. What an annoying book. I wanted to slap half the characters before it ended, and isn't this the one where Rice wrote a ranting Amazon response?
Her religious conversion should spare us any more vampire books.

Oh God. Blood Canticle was atrocious. Mona becomes a vamp...ghosts...sex...that boob hook.
That book was the only book I have ever read that I can say was just terrible. Most of the time you enjoy some part. But that was just an awful read. But I bought it, so I finished it.

I know, I felt like it was such a waste of money, especially since I had the pricey hardbacks of BC and BWF. I've mentioned it before but if you go into the libraries of Orleans parish on the free book/ cheap book racks are so many Anne Rice works. The last time I was there eight copies of the Witching Hour were on the shelf.

I get almost all of my Anne Rice from the library's book sales, so I don't feel bad if they suck. So, I have hardbacks, but they're ex-library copies, and I didn't pay much for them. I just found a copy of Blood cantcle upstairs, and I didn't even know I had it. I'm afraid to open it, after seeing the boob hook brought up.
