The Works of Joy Fielding

A fabulous writer. The last book I read is Lost, about a mother who learns her bratty, beautiful daughter is missing. Fielding is really great at creating ordinary details to flesh out the family. And the ending was great. Absolutely great.

Fielding seems to be writing mostly suspense now after writing about women's problems. She doesn't seem to be very well known, but she really should be.

I think I've read a couple of her books. The first one was called something like See How She Runs. Eventually I picked up another and couldn't get over how similar the basic plots were. Glancing through Amazon it looks like the heroine usually has a daughter who she has to save, and a husband who turns out to be a sociopath. That's her formula, I guess.
