I've enjoyed Peter Robinson, as well. I've skipped around a bit in the series, though, so there have been a few surprises. I should try and track down more of the books and read them in order.
I've been rereading some of my Julie Smith books from the Skip Langdon series. I was hooked when she actually killed a character off on the same street I used to live on when I was going to Newcomb myself.
Going back one more page here, I was happy to see mention of Jury/Plant et al. Jury can get a bit miserable at times, but the rest of the characters do a good job of providing some levity and fun. Can anyone tell me if The Blue Camel was the name of one of the Long Piddleton pubs? I've been trying to remember, after finding a restaurant here in town named that, but unfortunately, I left those books behind when I moved.
Right now I'm reading the latest in the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child. I've been pleasantly surprised by the series. I expected it to become formulaic and poorly written after a few books, but so far, it's still a decent thriller series. It hasn't gotten painfully repetitive yet.

I've been using Stop, You're Killing Me! as a resource to find new books. I have my library's online card catalog open simultaneously so when I see something that interests me I can flag it. As a result of the "What We Read" section I've read several authors I wouldn't have otherwise picked up. While some I won't read any more of, others I've enjoyed and will look for more of their work.

For the New Yorkers, John Grisham will be at the Union Square Barnes & Noble on January 27 to promote "The Associate."

Does anyone else here read Michael Connelly? I heard on the radio last night that Michael Jackson's death was going to be investigated by the Robbery-Homicide Division of the LAPD, and All I could think of was "Uh-oh, Harry Bosch is on the case. Watch out!".

I really recommend the newest Molly Murphy mystery by Rhys Bowen. It was a lot of fun. Though there was a postscript at the end that made me wonder if it might be the end of the series. That would be too bad, because I've really enjoyed all the books in the series.
On the other hand, I do not recommend the newest Stephanie Plum (#15). I think Janet Evanovich has milked the series for all it's worth and it's time to wrap it up and move on. At this point, I don't care who she ends up with, Morelli or Ranger--the whole love triangle is getting old and stale.

I guess I just have a really low tolerance for the will-they-or-won't-they stuff in books. I bailed on Stephanie Plum at book three.

Eh. I could care less about Ranger or Joe. I just love me some Grandma Mazur and Lula. It's the comedy in the series that get's me and not the mystery aspect.

Pretty much the only good mysteries I've read in the last couple of years are Scott Turow's Limitations and Jincy Willet's hysterical The Writing Class, which I'm currently re-reading. Other than that, I just haven't been able to find any new ones I like (sad). I always thought mystery would be the one genre that would never get old for me.

Have you read John Dunning's Bookman series? I've read the first two and really enjoyed them.
