Hee! How do you have a sex scene with characters with names like that? It's not especially romantic to be moaning "Ohh, Tohrment!"all the time. Or maybe all the love scenes are kinky? That might work out. (Or funny, I guess. But it would take a *really* good writer to make that work).

I'm about halfway through Skinwalker, the first book in the Jane Yellowrock series, by Faith Hunter. The descriptions of Jane, her clothing/accessories, and everyone else's are distracting me so much (it reminds me of the Sookie Stackhouse books). The author is constantly going on about Jane's braids and all the weapons and shit she's hiding up in there. At one point she put a BLOODY knife back up in her hair for safekeeping... ewww! She also stored a gun in her hair - that's safe. And she's always hiding silver crosses all over body, I swear she probably walks around with one shoved up her vagina. I've never read/heard about someone having as much shit stored on their person as she does. Has she heard of a backpack?! I mean, I feel like even a little crossbody bag would do the trick. She would still be able to move freely to fight and kill vampires. Oh, and her clothes... sigh. A tie-dyed skirt and peasant top with a JOGGING BRA underneath? To go dancing?! The idea of Jane wearing this and doing supposedly devastating belly dancing moves (in a JAZZ CLUB) is just too much. She was also wearing a turban with stakes hidden inside. I can't with this...

Can anyone spoiler for me how The Wheel of Time series eventually turned out?
