It never fails to amaze me, as we drive through Iowa, the Dakotas, and Minnesota on our way to Mr. Sunnyhorse's family in northwestern Minnesota, that people survived under the fucking sod through those brutal winters.

Anyway, every so often I feel the need to reread my childhood/young adult book friends and Little House (along with Trixie Belden) is always the first series I revisit. I LOVED Trixie Belden! Finally, someone else who knows about her! Topic: My mother made my sister and I Little House on the Prairie nighgowns and nightcaps when I was young. |

PHOTO covers? Are they at least photos of the Ingalls family? Because if we're talking modern photos of models wearing pioneer clothes, designed to make the series seem kewl and hip, that's awful. It's bad enough that the wonderful illustrations have been excised.

No effing way!!!! They are NOT Little House books WITHOUT the Garth Williams illustrations! The illustrations are the fabric that hold the stories together!
That's like - what - the Charlie Brown cartoons without the Vince Guiraldi music.
Some damn committee made that decision.

It's like they graffitied them or put billboards on them or something. |
