I do think its Sarah and Andrew who are being pushy about her being a fulltime royal. Its unfortunate because Charles has been saying for years that when he's king he'll streamline the monarchy (one of his better traits) so why start her now when in ten years or so she'll be out anyway? I think Andrew is used to getting his way with dear old Mom and hasn't yet clued into reality. He'll clue in real fast when Charles is king, which is one of the few things I'm exited about for his reign.

Mom's face looks puffy and tight, and dad sure put on the pounds. But mostly I'm surprised at how small Beatrice looks next to them. Is the grass all out of whack uneven or is she really that much shorter than her parents? I think she's wearing flats.

Mom's face looks puffy and tight She looks like she's had work done. But isn't she broke? Where'd she get the money? I'm also curious about what kind of job a royal is qualified for after removal from the civil list. It has to pay well enough to support him or her in the lifestyle to which s/he's become accustomed but also be dignified enough so as not the shame the family. That rules out most entertainment jobs. Doctors, lawyers, business--much of that requires further (expensive) education and a fiercely competitive nature which the lower-ranking royals may or may not have the inclination to pursue. What does that leave? I recall Andrew had some sort of international business ambassador position for the UK although I'm not sure if he drew a typical salary for that or not. Elizabeth II supposedly removed him after the Sarah's bribe bust.

He's still there, I think. I get the feeling it's kind of a make-work job.
As for jobs, Peter Phillips works for a bank, Zara's an equestrian, Rose Windsor Gilman is an art assistant for the film industry, Fredrick Windsor is a financial analyst, Gabriella Windsor is a freelance writer, and a couple of other male cousins are in the military. I guess it depends what she's good at.

I guess it depends what she's good at. The difference is that the aforementioned people technically aren't royalty: they don't have HRH's and they don't have titles. They would've never had any royal duties. But yeah, perhaps it's time for Beatrice to look into getting a j-o-b. I'm just nervous that this girl didn't develop any work ethic given who her parents are.

Doesn't Prince Edward have a "normal" life and job?

Doesn't Prince Edward have a "normal" life and job? No, he used to but in the last few years both he and his wife have transitoned into full-time royals.

He worked in theatre and then went into TV/film production, but his company never made a profit, and his career was considered a bit of an embarrassment. Not because he was doing a 'real' job, but because of the way he tried to exploit his royal connections for his TV projects (e.g. trying to film Prince William at his university without his permission) and how incredibly tacky some of them were. I'm trying to avoid mentioning 'It's a Royal Knockout.' /shudder/ If he'd gone into production but a) not done Royal-based stuff and b) actually been a success, it probably would have been fine.

Did anybody else know that Beatrice was an extra in Young Victoria?! Apparently she's one of the ladies-in-waiting wrangling the train in the coronation scene.
Dammit, WHY are all my dvds in storage?
