I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, Mad Elf, but I think it's because you're a freak. (I kid. I kid because I love).
I don't have any hauntings, really. My best friend was killed in a car accident when I was almost 8. I used to have regular dreams about him that would leave me feeling very sad and lost. When Batboy was born, I gave him my friend's name as a middle name (with my friend's mom's blessing, thank goodness) and the dreams stopped. I think that it had more to do with me being afraid of forgetting him than of any haunting on his part, but I like to think that he knows I've remembered him in such a way.
I also had three distinct dreams from age 16-20. Although the dreams were different, they had these facts: 1) I was/had been pregnant and I didn't know how I got that way, 2) I wasn't entirely sure who the father was, and 3) it was a boy. In one of the dreams the father ended up being a friend of mine and part of the confusion about paternity was that I had never slept with him.
So when I was 21, it was fall and my summer fling was over, school had started again and I was feeling under the weather. I figured it was about time I went to see the doctor but when I realized that I hadn't had my period yet and was feeling nauseated the doctor was only going to get me to take a pregnancy test so I'd just take one to eliminate that cause. There was no way I could be pregnant because my fling and I had used condoms and they hadn't broken.
Well, you all know the end to that story. I was pregnant and it was a boy (I was fairly certain that it was my fling but because I was so shocked to be pregnant in the first place I panicked for a bit that it could have been my previous boyfriend). I'd had to check myself into the hospital in the middle of the night due to premature labour and the next day my friends came to see me (I was still at university and my family was on the other side of the country). The hospital wouldn't let them in because they were neither family nor the baby's father so my friend, the same guy from my dream, told them that he was the father and got to see me (poor guy; he walked in just as they were giving me a shot in the ass and he had to pretend like he'd seen that ass before).
I had another dream come true before. I won't bore you with the details because it was incredibly mundane but I remember waking up thinking "That's weird. There's no way I'd end up doing that" and then about 4 months later I ended up doing exactly that and having, word for word, the same conversation with a friend.

It's funny cause it's true. I'm just a magnate for the weird. I've had some pretty freaky experiences. The thing is, often it's easy to explain things away. I did with Fred at first. With the whole keyboard incident I made myself believe that something was up with the toy and the rest was imagination. But it wasn't.
Once, when my sister and I were kids, we decided to stay up. My sister was sitting on the couch and I was sitting on the floor in front of her. I could see down the hall into her room. Suddenly my eyes widened and my sister got scared.....what did I see? It was like a gossomer beam of light with purple in the center it floated across her room, kinda dipped down then shot quickly into her closet. She was pretty mad at me after that.
I was involved in a senance once where the subject the people were trying to contact sorta grabbed me and scared the heck out of me, whispering in my ear, "Mine mine mine!"
But then again, maybe I just have a very rich, very active imagination.
And speaking of being scared, I could link you to Vincent the Haunted Clown Doll, but that thing freaks me out so bad that I'm not going hunting for it. I googled it and got this website (reneesghosts.homestead.com/HauntedClownEVP.html), though I didn't click the link. No way! No how! I'm warning you it's super, super creepy.

No Haunted Clown Dolls, please!! I have an irrational phobia about clowns and dolls (the porcelain-faced ones). My sister is the same way, even though we were never traumatised by clowns as children. We're spooked nonetheless. Soon after we were married, Mr. Oxynia and I temporarily lived in a friend's flat in Bayswater in London whilst he was away for the summer so we could save money. We were there for two months and had strange experiences from the start. We always left the car keys on a peg by the front door and kept finding them on the floor in the morning. This happened quite a few times. At first we thought the peg was bent but no, it was straight. There was no explanation for it. Then the creaking started. In the middle of the night, one or both of us would be awakened to the sound of creaking floorboards downstairs. Hubby investigated, armed with a cricket bat, but no burglars or anything. It became a regular thing and never ceased to scare us silly. And there was a definite cold spot at the foot of the stairs which never seemed to go away, even in the midst of summer. We rang up our friend to ask about it and he just blithely said "oh yes, I did forget to tell you. The place is haunted...cheerio!" So we lived with spooks for two months before getting our own place. I think we left skid marks down the road as we fled. And our friend sold the flat about a year later, he seemed to have had his fill of it as well. Funny enough, I have never managed to sleep without a nightlight after that. I simply cannot sleep in a dark room, my imagination overtakes me.

oooh Mad Elf that was freaky. Why? Why? Why? would this woman keep this freaking chucky doll in the house? One of the pics was even captioned:
Now I'd be trying to get the hell away from Vincent. *shudder*

I had a dream last week where I was getting my hair cut, and all of a sudden I felt weak and fell out of the chair, with physical sensations like I was fainting. I "felt" a tremendous pain or implosion in my head and everything started to fade away, like my mind was leaving me. Now I'm frightened it was a premonition of a stroke.

Not at all, Mad Elf, after posting mine, I've just been reading and cringing. And there's no way I'm clicking on that creepy clown doll link. No way at all!
chiqui, is having a stroke something you worry about? If so, it could have been a plain old anxiety dream. I hope it was. ::hugs::
I didn't think to post this because it's not about ghosts, it's just weird. However, here goes...
Years ago, I fell asleep on my back, which I very rarely do, and I woke up suddenly to find a glowing ball by the side of my bed. I stared at it for a second, then it disappeared into my headboard. I kind of lay there, a bit stunned, then assumed it was a dream and turned over and went back to sleep.
The next day, a friend of mine was all excited because two of her boyfriends' friends who'd been walking back home, had seen a UFO. They'd phoned some kind of 'UFO report line' (before then, I had no idea you could report UFOs) and were told that they'd had reports of lots of sightings in the area that night.
And it happened about the same time that I woke up seeing the glowing ball.

Vincent is a doll that the owner bought off of an Ebay auction. It moves around. The bottom of the feet are worn. It looks like some vaudvillian almost black face clown. IF you do decide to go to the site, turn off your sound, because your ears will immediately be assaulted by the sound of Vincent talking. Yeah I know...BUT supposedly she records EVPS of him. Asks him questions and what not and he answers. Just looking at the Vincent doll witll freak you out though, because to me, it's eyes look live. There is also time elaped video of a friend's haunted doll...the video is trained on the doll and over the course of a few hours the dolls head moves.
Did the site impact me? Ohhhh yeah? I have this creepy fear that if I ran into Vincent he'd kill me, cause I just feel like he's looking for me. Egotisitcal I know, but still....that's just how scared I am of him.
Pepper67 I've had an experience like that before. About 8 years ago I had a bad head cold and couldn't sleep sitting up. So I went and proped myself up on the couch with my blanket and all. I don't know how long I was asleep when I woke up. There was a little gold orb floating around the house. I watched it zip along at about waist level before disappearing through the door. I woke up a little later and there were about 4 or 5 people standing over me. They seemed to be talking to each other and to be very concerned about my health and if I was going to be ok....the eerie thing about that for me now in retrospect is, I was laying in the very spot where my mother passed away 6 years later.

Thanks. Mad Elf... eep, I won't go there. EVP and possessed dolls freak the heck out of me. Why does the owner keep him? I'd burn him in the fireplace or dump him in some far away lake. But then he could always come back. EEK!
