Just reading that freaks me out. There is no way I'm going to that site. I don't like dolls or toys that move or talk. All those plug-in Halloween and Christmas decorations that turn their heads or move their hands creep me the hell out. My mother bought her dog a stuffed toy lamb for Easter one year. It said "Happy Easter!" when you squeezed it. The dog had the thing forever, and it stopped talking after a month or so. I was home from college one fall weekend , and the lamb started talking again. My parents knew that I hated that stupid lamb, but they loved to torment me. I got back to my apartment, I lived alone, about midnight and played my answering machine messages. My mother had called and left messages of the lamb shrieking "Happy Easter!" over and over. Didn't sleep much that night.

Agghh that's mean. And Vincent doesn't mechanically move. They'll sit him on the bed and come back to find him elsewhere in the room...the bottom of his shoes are worn like he's been walking. And Britty tell you're parents I think they are very mean...ok don't but I still think they're mean.
gororoba if you went to the site you'd come back with the notion that Vincent is very treasured and pretty loved in the household he lives in.
Man I'm addicted to this thread. I need to find something else to do.

This happened to me too! I was on the verge of falling asleep when I opened my eyes to see a small, iridescent, peacock-blue light move in an arc from left to right, and disappear. I'm not sure it's 'real,' though. I think it could have been just a hypnogogic hallucination, which sometimes happenes when brains are on the verge of sleep, but not quite.
One time, though, when I was very sick with bronchitis (the kind that causes you to cough up yellow-green mucus by the quarter-cup) there was a snowstorm that night. I distinctly remember thunder and flashes of lightning even though it was snowing, and I looked out of the apartment window to see the surrounding area turn green with each flash of the lightning. Like St. Elmo's fire I guess, or something similar. I don't think I was that fevered for it to have all been a hallucination, just some very very strange weather-electrical effect.

Ack, Robert! That is the stuff of nightmares. I read about him over at TWoP and I lost a night of sleep. Very scary.

Eeeek! I can't handle the demonic doll stories one bit. Give me ghosts, hauntings, strange lights, noises, creepiness like that and I can take it. Put a doll in the story and I'm suddenly worse than my five-year-old.
I can't click those links. Not for a million dollars.

My only ghost story is kind of lame. Some friends of mine and I decided to have a seance when I was about 13. We decided to contact the ghost of John Wilkes Booth. I don't know why -- probably it was the first famous dead person we could think of. Anyway, we had a candle lit, and we asked that if it was really JWB to please point the candle to each person in the room if it was really present. The flame did so (the windows were all locked and the curtains drawn, so there was no breeze). Then -- and I don't remember this part but I think I blocked it out -- one of the boys asked, "If you could kill one person in this room, who would it be?" The flame pointed to me. I do remember getting completely freaked out, blowing out the candle and running out of the room.
One of the boys said later, "You know, if you blow out the candle without banishing the spirit, it will haunt you." Oh, great. Now I was going to be haunted by a 19th-century assassin. I went home, and for the first and only time in my life, I called a priest at home to talk. The woman who worked at the rectory told me that she was very sorry, but the priest was away on a retreat.
That night I had a dream that John Wilkes Booth was standing in front of me with a gun pointed at me, and he was going to kill me. All of a sudden, a door opens, and who do you think walked in? Yes, it was Abraham Lincoln. He picked up a gun, shot JWB, and then turned to me and said, "You're safe now." And I never worried about being haunted again.

That's awesome! Justice! Heheheh
If you're freaked out by haunted dolls, then I wouldn't suggest doing a search for haunted dolls on Ebay. There is a plethora of them....don't ask me why I looked, mostly cause of Robert. I wonder what Vincent would think of Robert, he seems to be pretty opinionated about such things....

Lately my mom has been seeing items fall off a shelf in her sewing room in the basement. She is convinced a ghost was/is there.
A few weeks after my grandmother died 11 years ago a musical figurine started playing "School Days, School Days" with no prompting. My mom suspects it was her mother's way of saying goodbye.

Click it, click it, click it (this said in an hypnotic chant voice). There's also the infamous haunted Ebay painting[/color]. If you google "The Hands Resist Him" (name of the painting) you'll find thousands of links. Apparently, people feel violently ill just looking at that painting. I must say I am not scared by it or felt ill or anything (but it *is* creepy and I don't like to look at it).
