So I learned to look down on the pillowcase kids for being greedy. Sorry, India. We are TOTALLY taking this outside! Boy, did you ever miss out, Plastic Pumpkin Kid! There was nothing like dragging home a sack full of candy bigger than your torso at the end of the night! I stopped trick or treating when I was about 14, but I DID go one more time at age 17 (*yes, I'm embarrassed*), because my best friend's Mom made us take her little brother and sister out trick or treating. We figured we may as well get into costume and get candy for ourselves - so we did. Candy-grubbing pigs, the two of us... I like Ladymadonna's idea of Topher and the Mrs. going as Zombie Katie and Tom, with the "I'm With Amazing --->" tee! Hee!

We were pillowcase kids too. India7, I'll be in your corner during the Greecie Plastic Pumpkin vs. Pillowcase Dance-Off. I grew up in a large trailer park which was awesome for trick-or-treating. I used to come home with so much candy. My mom used to make our costumes. I think her high point was 1980 when I went as Princess Leia and my four-year-old brother went as Darth Vader (she did buy the Darth Vader face mask). I had a "laser" gun that shot had a flint inside so it made sparks!
We don't get a lot of kids now in our neighborhood -- only about 20-25. When I grew up, we used to have 300-400 kids come to the door, so I was shocked at the low numbers. However, the kids who do come luck out because we are the cool grownups who pass out regular sized candy bars. The past couple of years, we've bought them in Canada for a fun change. Most US kids have never had Coffee Crisps or Mr. Big bars.

Ooh, the foreign candy thing is a neat idea, Ripley. (Of course, I am the one who has driven across the border for American junk food.) And I think I will sadly be outnumbered in the dance-off. But I'll be nimbler because I didn't eat so much Halloween candy!* *This is a huge lie. I just ate a crappy Hershey chocolate bar. Hee.

If you are looking for a sexy (OK, slutty) costume this year: LinkI love Halloween! It is my second favorite holiday after Christmas. Each year our friends throw a crazy Halloween party- they start decorating at Labor Day. I dug some pics out of previous Halloweens- we usually go all out. I don't know what MrB and I are going to be this year, but LilB is going as a penguin. ETA- I will try to post again later, I am seriously messing up the tags.

Well I am eagerly awaiting your pictures and was sad that I couldn't see them when you were trying to fix the tags.
Plus if I post, then you can post again without having to edit. ;D

Aww, that pea in the pod costume is adorable. (Really, all of the costumes are - but little baby in vegetable suit is extra-super-adorable.)
I don't do Halloween. (Cloistered nuns have more active social lives than I do.) The last time I dressed up was 3 or 4 years ago, and I went as Daria Morgendorffer. Nobody got it. (Sorry, no photos available.)

This year is going to be a humdinger. I don't know what the Mr. and I are going to be but I have started planning. Every year I am dissatisfied w/ one small part of my costume. 2002- my stylist did my hair nothing like Tink's. 2003 was OK but I was thick from pregnancy. 2005- what the hell was I thinking with the hair? This year I have got to get the hair right for a change! LilB's penguin costume: LinkHas anyone ever bought a Tom Arma costume?

Awww, I would have gotten it!
No one got or noticed my Leela costume, either (stupid Bender took all the attention!).
I thought you looked fantastic.
