What Are You Wearing Today?

I'm not dressed yet today. I'm just hanging around the house so I think I'll wear jeans and a sweater of some sort.

But yesterday, I wore black boots (flats), an A-line dark denim skirt, a white tank underneath a teal/black/white wrap shirt with short flutter sleeves. I think I completely spoiled the outfit by wearing a white raincoat over it....but it was raining

Gray agnes b. cardigan, red short-sleeved sweater, gray and black plaid skirt, gray and black argyle knee socks, red mary janes.
Yesterday, Nantucket-blue J. Crew cardigan, brown koi-print T-shirt, orange and black plaid skirt, brown knee socks, black mary janes.
The day before, black Banana Republic cardigan, black T-shirt, red plaid skirt, black knee socks, black T-straps.

How many plaid skirts and cardigans can one woman possibly own? A lot.

I'm going to be a grading machine today, so I want to be comfy. I am wearing dark blue sweatpants, a maroon long-sleeved t-shirt and a fuzzy gray kitty (the other cat will help grade by draping herself across the exams).

No bra today. Or shoes.

I'm wearing some of my new clothes. I long turquoise and green patterned skirt (flowy), a turquoise tunic sweater, and cream colored sling backs. I feel so pretty!

I seriously need to get some cute clothes together. I mean I have lots of classics because work is business-casual, so maybe I just need to punch things up with some fun accessories. Because here's what my boring ass is wearing today:

A black Banana Republic stretch tee shirt
A black Bennetton cardigan (for what it's worth, it's MUCH better than yesterday's sweater!)
Carmel colored pants with a teeeensy, tiiiiiny liiiiittle chocolate herring bone pattern - they're actually the bottom half of an Anne Klein pantsuit.
The same old boring ass black low-heeled, pointy toed boots I had on yesterday.

And I realize I didn't go into jewelry, so here's what I have on - it doesn't vary much, trust me.

A very funky, hammered metal and gemstone bracelet by Holly Yashi (an anniversary present from my now ex-BF. He was a jerk, but he did know how to pick out exactly the kind of jewelry I liked!).
Five black rubber O-Ring bracelets, a la 1985 Madonna. Yeah, I never grew out of those. And they're fun to add in with a totally serious bracelet!
A Swatch Watch that I get tons of compliments on. I don't know the style name, but it's got a gold face (where the hands are) with a copper colored ring surrounding that (where the numbers are). And the band is sort of like a gold, copper and indigo Indian sari type design.

Today: off-white Lands End jeans that are too tight (read: I had to close the zipper this morning with my needle-nosed pliers but they really hold my tummy in!), a black v-neck top, a window-pane check black blazer, and my new Bruno Magli wedges. It's Take Yer Kid to Work day here and we who were "tour guides" all dressed in black & tan.

Today I am wearing my PINK Fat Baby boots, Cruel Girl low rise jeans, the PINK bling-bling-blingy rhinestone belt my children gave me for christmas that I feel slightly ridiculous wearing and a PINK long sleeved Cruel Girl Shirt. I am just a PINK slightly ridiculous looking Cruel Girl today.

Luckyyyyy! [/Napoleon Dynamite impression] I can't ever do that, not with my giant boobs. Even if I'm just sitting around the house, I'll put one on, because if I go bra-less for long periods, it kind of hurts.

I look cute today, if I do say so myself. I'm wearing the aforementioned black ballet flats (and mea culpa if I made anyone upset -- the only reason I thought they were out is that I never see them in stores around here anymore) with my favorite black Banana Republic capris and a red cashmere cap-sleeved sweater I got a couple years ago but only recently rediscovered. Red looks good with my coloring, I think, and the pants make me look thin. And I have my hair in a ponytail, but it looks cute with the outfit, so it's all good.

I should clarify that this is what I'm wearing after I went home on my lunch break to change. I thought I'd be sitting around the office writing all day, so I was wearing ratty jeans and a pink tee, but then found out that I had to go cover an event, so I changed.

In a minute, I'm going to go put on my black yoga pants and favorite kelly green long-sleeved tee so I can go work out.
