Malcolm in the Middle

Despite the erratic levels of quality, I still really enjoy this show. The first couple of seasons were the best, largely because of Dewey. He was such a weird little character and always cracked me up. But of course he had to grow up and I've liked the progression his character has taken.

These days I really appreciate the moments like tonight where Malcolm is proven to be an obnoxious asshole. I have to respect a show that has the courage to make its main character knowingly obnoxious.

I wait eagerly for the day of Frankie Muniz's violent beating. It shall be glorious, with him whining "but I was on Malcolm in the Middle!" and everybody with baseball bats and torches screaming "that show's still on?"

Sorry, got sidetracked there for a second. Does he still have the Fred Savage Puberty/Darkman thing going on?

I only watch this show sporadically, but it's often funny. Why is Francis always off doing other things? It reminds me of Three's Compnay when Suzanne Somers was fighting with the producers and all her scenes were her on the phone at her cousin's apartment. Does anyone know if there's something like that going on with Francis? It just seems so weird to have a character that hardly ever interacts with the other regulars.

I noticed last night that they put a lot of make-up on FM. It was distracting. That can’t be helping an already bad complexion.

I love this show but haven't seen much of it lately. IRL, Frankie Muniz does seem to be a noxious little twunt.

Okay everybody, good news/bad news time. Malcolm has been renewed for another season. And now the good news: it's being shifted away from Sunday all the way to....

8:30-9:00 PM on FRIDAYS

Considering its last place on the schedule was alongside King of the Hill in the deadly Futurama spot (7-8pm if not preempted), this is Fox's way of shoving it naked into the Arctic and waiting for nature to take its course. King of the Hill, however, keeps the 7:30 slot on Sundays and continues to leech off the Simpsons inertia.

Hal is one of my all-time favorite tv characters. I loved the ep where he becomes a speed-walker. I laughed my ass off the entire episode.

Older Malcom annoys me, he seems like such a brat. I hate to say it, but his friend who can't speak really bugs me.
