They noted in the first episode that Gen X was 1963 thru 1981 and the Millenials from 1983 thru 1997-8(I can't remember which).

There's always overlap at the beginning & ending of generations. My mom was born in 1946 & I was born in 1963, by most charts we're both Boomers, but she has more in common with The Silent Generation & I have more in common with Gen X.
The show is dating Millennials from 1983 to 1997. Will was born in 1997 & ditched high school to film Survivor.

I've never seen anything that says GenX starts in '63. We were originally called the Baby Bust generation, and the first year is 1965. The first year for Millennials is usually considered 1983-1984, but the years are squishier than the dates for end of the Boom beginning of the Bust.
I haven't watched any of this season yet. The majority of my co-workers are Millennials, and they tend to drive me crazy, plus when you add in the stereotypes of both generations that I figure will be played up on the show, I'm not sure I want to spend my time with it (unless I hear there are really strategic players).

Twenty years is way too long to define a generation. Baby bust is more apt, although I think it starts when the Pill became widely available (mid 60s), hence the bust. My brother is in that group, my class had 27 kids, his had 11. Gen X would come after the Busters, maybe mid 70s-80s. Then Millenials mid 80s-90s. Not sure what they call the 2000-ers. My age group (early 60s) is in with the boomers, but we don't belong there.
But for the sake of the show, of course they make broad generalizations.

Thank you! I was born in 1960 and I have absolutely nothing in common with the Woodstock crowd!
As for this season, so far it's not grabbing me.

Apparently, the Baby Boomers are the only official generation to be recognized by the U.S. Census and they use 1945-1964. Here's a good article on the different generations: The Generations

Thank you Oklahoma Sooners, for bonding 2 of my 4 Fantasy Players. It is much appreciated, especially since I traded Ce Ce for Zeke after Round 1.
And I write that as a purebred Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!

I kind of liked Zeke, but don't like the other guy that he joined up with, so I was sad to see that pairing.
As for the whole Gen-X/Millenial thing, it's not really highlighting specific generational differences, it's just highlighting generic generational differences, ie, 20-somethings vs 40-somethings. In other words, I wish they'd quit focusing on it.

So happy Figgy's gone. You think you can just flaunt showmance and not suffer the consequences?? Not bloody likely! Power Couples get broken the eff up. These are basic rules of the game. Have they not watched the show? I don't inherently hate power couples, but they were do damned smug.
Taylor talking revenge plots when he's on the bottom of his new tribe. Um, okay. You knew Figgy for, like, 14 days. I have laundry that's been in my hamper, longer. Calm down, Tales.

He'll probably join his true love in Loser Lodge soon enough, and they can revel in their awesomeness as a power(less) couple.
