That was the best episode. I hated Rob and Amber before, but now? I don't think words could express my opinion of them.
So glad to see the brothers made it after what they went through, that was amazing.
That's what you get for bashing the older couple, elemination! What goes around comes around, and it can't come soon enough for Rob and Amber.

Good Riddance to Ray and Deana!
I'm still gobsmacked from Phil mugging Gretchen and Meredith. Dayum! That was cool.
Now Romber are assholes? I'm going to call editing BS on that one. And really, what could they have done? I figure they saw that the brothers weren't hurt, so why stop? No one on any of the teams were doctors.

Romber should have at least slowed down, opened the window and asked if everyone was okay. That's what the other teams did who arrived after one team had stopped. That's what normal people do at an accident.
No, they don't need dozens of people standing around, esp. once someone has stopped to help. But sheesh, they could act like human beings. Very disappointed.
Although I admire their racing ability, I am looking forward to their comeuppance because they seem to have a little too much good luck.
And speaking of sweet, sweet comeuppance. Ray, the old people beat you, nyah, nyah, nyah! I'm checking in on the Early Show to see if they'll be on and what they have to say. It would have been nice to have some sort of throwaway comment explaining Deana's swollen eye. I assume she had an infection or an insect bite, but all I can think is that Ray smacked her.
Also, if you incorrectly grind corn the first time, do it better after that. Don't keep leaving large chunks in it and then get frustrated at the native woman because it's not up to her standards. I guess an old African woman can also beat Ray.
Love the brothers, and so glad they're still in it.

I am waiting for Rob/Amber to encounter a local who purposely leads them the wrong way because they hated Rob/Amber in Survivor.

That episode would be an Emmy worthy one in my books.

Glad to see the brothers outrun Ray & Deana--while I thought the brothers were a little colorless the first couple legs, they're becoming one of my favorite teams. I'm also glad to see Ray gone, since I thought he was annoying even before yesterday's episode.

Oh, that would be beautiful!
That's part of my problem with them being on the show. Either do a whole season made up of people from other shows, or don't allow any people from other shows on at all. It's one thing for teams to approach locals and ask for help. If they get a really helpful person who will go with them? Great. Fair. But when you've got locals recognizing the contestants and helping them because they recognize them, I don't like it so much. Amber was wandering around and seemed brain-dead (as usual) in the market task, and she got incredibly lucky to have that woman recognize her and basically take over the task. That's the kind of luck that gives them an unfair advantage over the other teams.

I am waiting for Rob/Amber to encounter a local who purposely leads them the wrong way because they hated Rob/Amber in Survivor. God, that would be absolutely fantastic (and would be something I would do, if I encountered them). I already hate them enough as it is, but their obvious advantage of being psuedo-celebrities is just so unfair to me that I root for them to get booted regardless of the hate. And MrsOldManBalls, I totally agree. This episode was absolutely fantastic. It's episodes like this that put The Amazing Race leaps and bounds ahead of all other reality shows. On another note, I know Lyn and Alex are so bitchy and catty and un-pc in their comments, and because of it, many viewers dislike them, but they crack my shit up and I'm rooting for them. I like the brothers well enough, but can't root for them because I'm so sick of the alpha-male teams winning.

I never watched Survivor, so I didn't go into this with an opinion of Rob and Amber, but I am getting awfully tired of people recognizing them and going out of their way to help them. I know they don't always ask for the help, but it takes away the "stranger in a strange land" vibe the show sometimes gives off that I like.
So, so happy the brothers made it. I am also tired of the Alpha male teams, but these two are a couple of dorks and I have a soft spot for dorks. I love how every time they encounter a group of kids they always tell them things like "Stay in school" and "Don't do drugs" - dorky? Yes. But like I said, I love dorks.
I also like Lynn and Alex, but they seriously need to stop worrying about Rob and Amber. Yeah, I can understand why they don't like them, but enough already.
Uchenna and Joyce are freakin' cool. I love that they gave clothes to the oldsters after Phil mugged them. They constantly talk about how their fertility problems are putting a strain on the relationship, but they seem totally functional to me. They are always good to each other, which is a lot more than I can say for other couples that have appeared on this show.

I know what you mean about Rob and Amber getting an unfair advantage because of their celebrity. But IMO their participation in this race are bringing out so much more competitiveness from the other racers, that it makes for a better race.
I love the vitriol it adds to the race...perhaps TAR should always include one celebrity couple that cause all the rest of the racers to froth at the mouth.
