It is true that it is causing some of the other teams to kick their game up a few notches, but I want to pull my hair out every time I hear "Rob and Amber."

That would be the best episode ever. But, it would have to be someone who could fake being a huge fan of theirs.
I'm pretty cold and heartless when it comes to other people's well-being, but even I would have at least stopped and seen if everyone was OK at the accident. Not every team needed to stay behind like Lynn/Alex, but COME ON! [/GOB]
I like the Brothers too, and I love them even more for beating Jonathan Jr and Deanna to the pit stop. But I don't like the new mugging rules during non-elimination legs. That just seems a little extreme.

I don't mind the mugging. I think it seemed harsh this time because of Gretchen's fall and because it was the old couple. If it were any other team, it wouldn't have seemed so mean. If you come in last and get to stay in the race, there should be a significant penalty, and since only taking the team's money didn't really impact any of the teams last season, I can see why they added the mugging.
Loved the kids at the orphanage, they were all adorable -- I hope Joyce and Uchenna adopt some of them!
The ending was fantastic, I was on the edge of my seat rooting for the brothers. Soooooo glad Ray and Deana are gone, he was scary and icky. And mean to the end; most teams say nice things about each other after they are eliminated but not Ray, what a guy, he just bad mouthed poor Deana (who needs to get a clue, come on girl, you can do better than him!).

Alex and Lynne need to stop it with the stereotypes. Let no one get started on gays and hispanics.

This thread came to a screeching halt.
Sad to see the brothers go. They brought some good humour and I loved their synchronized leap into the pool at the end. The editors loved it too, because they rarely show footage of the bootees after the bathmat of elimanation pronouncement (beyond their farewell speech).
I wonder if it would have made a difference, time-wise, if they hadn't stopped to change into their goofy outfits. Probably not.
Which team said of Uchenna and Joyce, when they successfully carried the stuff on their heads, "They were made for this challenge"?
I caught bits and pieces of last night's recap show. Did they show the bit about Rob and Amber finding themselves on a magazine cover in South Africa in the regular ep? I really think they have an unfair advantage, unless the editors are leading up to a big "fake fan leads them astray", as mentioned upthread.
If that happens, it will be the best TAR moment in history.

I wonder if it would have made a difference, time-wise, if they hadn't stopped to change into their goofy outfits. Probably not. The brothers were a hour and a half behind everyone else, they knew they were last. They went 45 minutes out of the way to the first town and they bled alot of time at the first water tower. Check out this article.Had it been non-elim, they wanted to see if they would really make them race in swim trunks only. I miss the brothers already! Which team said of Uchenna and Joyce, when they successfully carried the stuff on their heads, "They were made for this challenge"? That was either Alex or Lynn. Lynn, I think. There is much debate at TWoP and other message boards as to whether this comment was racist or not. Personally, I am in the "not" camp. It just seemed like it would have been something they would have said about any team that completed the balancing detour quickly. Was it a smart thing to say considering Lynn's history of comments? No. But I didn't see anything racist behind it. YMMV.

YES! When she was wandering around the steel depot whining instead of opening boxes I was shouting at the tv. I scared my cat. M/G have made so many mistakes on the race, I cannot believe they are still in it.
Although, the "Shame on you!" was funny when she was delivering the tea.

Yeah, I don't mind unlikable people going far if they have earned it by good and fair play.
And I don't mind if likable people go far via good luck.
But I don't like mediocre people going far, in spite of poor play. I'll give Gretchen credit for going on after whacking her head in the cave, and they are much older and thus slower, than the other teams, so kudos for getting this far. And Uchenna and Joyce also screwed up in Botswana by not reading the clue properly.
But following other teams instead of looking at a map? Or standing around, whining about the challenge instead of doing it? Gah. I get the whining when you're tired, but whine WHILE you do it at least. I assume they're next to go.
I love how they mess with their heads like they did this week. They did a detour and roadblock, so they assume the pitstop is next. Instead they get Phil and his eyebrow of mischief. Heh.

Gretchen hadn't bothered me until this last episode. But I was another one yelling at the tv when she was just standing there whining instead of opening the boxes. How hard is it to open a box? There's no skill, no method. Just do it!
The Philbrow was out in full force. Loved it!
