I keep trying to figure out if "Ann Veal" is supposed to mean something---like maybe "anvil"? Or maybe it's just that secondary characters always get randomly bizarre names. Gene Parmesan, anyone?

It always nice to see Ione Skye. Great Episode. Luckily, I live in the secular world.
I am starting to believe that since three episodes got cut back they are trying to fit in as much as possible to finish some story arcs. That is why the last two episodes seems so squashed.

I didn't love tonight's episode. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It certainly had its moments, but I didn't fall over laughing or anything. As I posted over on TWoP, I feel like I watch every season 2 episode with the desperate hope that it will live up to the greatness, nay, the absolute perfection, of season 1. For the most part, the season 2 eps aren't doing that. Episodes like "Good Grief" come really, really close, but some of the other episodes are sooo over the top and wacky. I guess I miss the more subtle humor of season 1. I know that virtually no one agrees with me, but it's the way I feel. Having said all of this, I still have to say that AD is the best show on television.

Loved this ep. I swear each episode is better than the last, and, for AD, that's really saying something.
BWAH!

It always nice to see Ione Skye. Great Episode. Luckily, I live in the secular world. Thank you! I missed the first few minutes, and I could not figure out why the actress playing Ann's mother looked so familiar. I knew that I knew who she was, but I just didn't know what I knew, you know? I loved Michael's "You gotta lock that down." to Mr. Veal after learning of the early engagement of Ann's parents. Hee.

AD is like Sondheim: Writing on a curve so far ahead of anything else in its respective genre, yet can't get a break from the lowbrows. Even though AD, like Sondheim, does low comedy brilliantly. Why the hell don't more people watch this show? (/ rant)
Mae Whitman is really, really funny. I remember when she was just a cute little kid in One Fine Day.

Last nite's was pretty funny, reminded me of season one. Loved that Buster's medication bottle said "For arm pain [phantom]" on the label. And the winking eye bits got me too.
It's the little things that matter most about this show. i like feeling all smug when I catch stuff my friends didn't.

I'll have to go over my S1 DVDs with a fine-tooth comb (again!), but I think that's the first time we've heard that Buster's real name is Byron. I thought that was interesting, anyway.
Buster's no juice, no sugar restrictions (and when he goes wild and rebels) will always be funny. "Off. The. Hook!" Heh.
For as much as I hate his crappy movies, Ron Howard has really won me over with his VOs. His criticism last night of the "Scandalmakers" VO guy was hilarious.

The only other time it's mentioned is his introduction in the pilot. The text identifies him as Byron "Buster" Bluth.

The sight of Buster wandering around the apartment sipping his box of wine with a straw, was the high point of the episode for me. Followed closely by Buster begging his mother not to leave him for rehab, but relenting when he catches sight of the Roomba.
