He is a dirty old man! The way he treated his co-workers. He fired Jan when she stood by him plus work for him for over 25 yrs. I don't know why people are still watching this is the number 1 show in daytime .

I am always amazed at how perpetually perky Bob Barker is. What is he, 90? He must be on high-octane viagra or something.
I didn't much care, though, for the show, because I am so bad at naming the prices of things, and thus couldn't vicariously participate at home.

The mountain-climber game was my favorite when I was a wee one. I wish I could find a sound file of that stupid yodeling song.
I only see it now when I'm home sick, but I still loathe the jackasses in Contestant's Row that outbid someone by $1 and win. They're just like the weenies who have $30,000, but only bet $500 on a Daily Double on Jeopardy.
I agree that Bob Barker was a jerk for firing Jan after all those years.

I love to see the poorly concealed looks of disappointment on the contestants face when they finally make it onstage and the "prize" they have to try to win is nothing but a dining room set or something dumb like a grandfather clock. It's hilarious. The only truly practical prizes they give out are the cars, trips, and of course the money.

I like watching this show only to see how excited and stupid the contestants act when they win. I don't know if other game show contestants act this way off stage, but on stage, these people are all spazzes. The only ones that get called are the ones who kiss Bob's ass all the way to his colon. I can just picture some of them, BJ Hickman-style, sitting in their hotel rooms the night before a taping, surrounded by reflective tape and permanent markers, trying to out-create eachother in Brown-Nose Bob attire. Give me a break, people. Who the heck wants a kiss from an 85 year old, controlling pervert, anyway?
At least Gene Rayburn could laugh at himself.

This is so funny. I flipped on the tube as I was getting ready to work out this morning. I can't believe they are still airing new eppys of this crapfest. That said, I LOVED Plinko.

Squueeeee!
The Showcase Showdown is one of the most public displays of greed on television. 9 out of 10 times the 1st bidder turns down their showcase thinking #2 will be better. Showcase #1 could have a car, a boat, and a diamond watch--but you can see the little gears of greed turning in their heads: "Hey--maybe showcase #2 has TWO cars, TWO boats and TWO diamond watches!" And so they pass, and end up getting the appealing showcase that Moldy detailed. Or better yet--one of those around the world trip showcases, which they still must pay taxes on and get nothing tangible in return if they win. Serves them right!

That's Plinko!
I used to watch the show for the unmitigated greed, the almost-touching ineptitude of some conteatants, and the totally-hot-for-10-in-the-morning combination of Janice and Dian. Now they're both gone, and Bob Barker must be about 90.

My mom was on the show about 30 years ago, and won a bunch of stuff, furniture, a car, silver, etc. She still has the desk and the silver, but she sold the car right when she got it. I kind of like the show in a cheesy sort of way.
