And Creamettes...don't forget the Creamettes! Nothing like getting all the way up onto the stage to win a box of macaroni.

The Clock Game (IIRC)! The best was always when some dumbass couldn't tell the difference between "higher" and "lower". For example:
DUMBASS CONTESTANT: 200! BOB: Lower. D.C.: 300!
I'm not sure about TPIR, but I was on Jeopardy about seven years ago and, for the runners-up, it was prizes or nothin'. (Winner got cash.)
Moldy--can't wait to hear about today's Showcase Showdown.

Count me in! I loved Plinko too. I'm not sure if there is any reason other than the cool name.
Re: Squeeze Play-I can only recall seeing someone win that game once. No one else wins that game.
Edited to add the "o" in Plinko.

OT, but wow, proper stranger! Congrats for getting on Jeopardy!. That's like a lifetime achievement for me. How did you do?
Does anyone else remember when Bob suddenly decided to stop dying his hair? I thought my grandmother was going to choke on her mentho-lyptus cough drop.
I can't wait for the day one of the people in the audience flashes Bob Jerry Springer Show-style to see if it gets them onstage. I know not wearing a bra has got to be a big selling point, since the run the contestant's row turns into a skin-stretching, black-eye experience when the person has a nice, loose set of bahoobies. Myself, I could never imagine the pain of having them flopping around like that while running full sprint and smiling for the camera.

I'm not sure about TPIR, but I was on Jeopardy about seven years ago and, for the runners-up, it was prizes or nothin'. (Winner got cash.) Hey! Another former Jeopardy contestant! I made my losing appearance in January of '99! Did you get the Hot Pockets, Alberto v05, and Ginsana "parting gift"?

[OT] Thanks, BagOfBones! It was a lifelong dream of mine, too, so it was pretty cool. I came in 2nd, but was the only contestant to answer Final Jeopardy correctly, so at least I have that. ;D
Hey, TrafficChick--Jeopardy non-winners unite! I won a really nice trip to a couple of places in Mexico (nice hotels, first class airfare), about twelve boxes of the game Boggle and the home version of Jeopardy. I declined the case of Garlique. I think I read somewhere that the "losers" now get to keep the amount of their winnings in cash. Bummer for us.
Back on-topic...My favorite (albeit rare) Showcase Showdown scenario would play out as follows: Contestant #1 does the "pass the first showcase because it doesn't have a car" and subsequently overbids on the second showcase. Contestant #2 not only wins the crappier first showcase but, since his/her bid is within $100 of the actual retail price, wins BOTH showcases. Greedy Contestant #1 walks away with nothing. Classic.

So, who's watching today?
I might take the plunge. I have to wait for the UPS man, so the day's pretty much shot anyway.
I've always wondered if someone out there doesn't keep track of all of the actual prices of some of the more common items on this show. Some things like Fixodent and Centrum vitamins must have the same prices, show after show, no? Also, some of the things they bid on in the beginning are recycled. I've seen that huge, ugly, light-up globe a few times. It's a catchy one, though, since it looks like crap but is worth like $2,200.

I was a little girl when this happened. I didn't understand how his hair suddenly when from black to white.
What's funny is that as I'm watching this stuff at home, it's obvious that they're overbidding. I guess they don't get that it's better to underbid than to risk overbidding.

I missed it, too. I went out to mow the lawn and got distracted. Crap.
