Even Kovach (who really IS sex on two legs), can't save this show for me. I watched ER faithfully from the beginning until the beginning of last season. I endured it through Mark's transformation to boring asshole. I endured through Elizabeth's slutty season. I endured Carter's transformation from hot, caring, committed rich-boy who risked it all for his morals, to boring, prissy, wallowing in his issues, hypocrite. I endured Carrie's transformation from evil bitch, to misunderstood lesbian bitch, to ass-kissing bureaucratic bitch. I EVEN watched through the introduction of Sam and her demon-spawn, Son of Sam (THE most perfect nickname in all of TWoP-dom, btw). Last year, I somehow found the willpower to turn the TV off after The Apprentice, because this show has gone on at least three years too long, and even I have TV watching standards. (And I have been known to tape The Surreal Life if it conflicts with a football game or something.) I just don't give a crap anymore. That said, is there anything I've been missing?

Thanks Secretsquirrel for letting me know he did recieve an award for Outstanding Guest Actor playing "Charlie Metcalf".
roisin54 I felt the same thing! AT first I was like, "who is that old creep" and was shocked when I saw C. Thomas's eyes peering out of that old pervert's face!

No problem, whitefalcon.
And no offense, ladyfalcon, do you expect the characters to remain the same over a number of years. Are you the exact same person that you were three or four years ago? Can't say that I was. People go thru their smart or stupid or slutty or boring phases. Sometimes they don't. But change is a good thing to me.

Oh defo. But what was weird is I have not seen him in so long, and then he looked so old. I guess in my minds eye he still looked like he did in 1980's. It was a shock to see him aged.

Honestly I don't know how I feel about ER. I have been a faithful follower of this show since the days of George Clooney and his drama with the nurse and many more. While I understand that everything changes, and nothing and no one stays the same, I have seen some of the characters either disappear, or just slide in to make an appearance and move on.
It seems to me that ER is a series that has had its time in the sun and should now close up shop with dignity and grace. I have truly enjoyed this show, and have agreed with critics who said that it was one of the most dramatic and wonderfully written shows on television.
Eventhough this may sound like a eulogy, and I guess in some respects it is, I will always recognize and enjoy the way this series brought some great dramatic moments to the audience.

If it were on any other network, I think it'd be gone by now. But as desperate as NBC is for ANY show that will draw an audience, I think Jeff Zucker is probably sending gifts to the writers daily to convince them they can come up with more stories and characters.

Nah, I like change, and I do expect characters to grow and change as the show goes on. I guess I just haven't liked what any of the characters have become*. I was ready for Mark Green to go, because I hated what his character became, if that makes any sense. It's kind of like.... I loved Phoebe and Joey in the first few seasons of Friends, but by the time the series ended, they annoyed the crap out of me. I think it's just the fact that so many of the shows I love jump the shark and then go on for a few seasons too long. And then I get annoyed with them, because I no longer enjoy them, which makes me sad. Having said that, I think I watch WAAAAYY too much TV. *Except for Deb Chen (Jing Mae). I HATED her in her first stint on the show, but I have quite liked her since she came back however many years ago.

I 've only seen it one, with Ray Liotta and last week and was impressed, so if it has gone downhill it must have rocked.
The hot doc some of you are mentioning, are you talking about that tall piece of candy that seems to be a head doctor and has a slight accent?
Oh yea...!
By the way, I was watching a program called Intervention on A&E and it featured a woman who used to be on ER. She was small, thin and dark. Small girly voice. Toatal mess now. Stays locked in her apartment and is going through the money she made on ER by buying stuff off of QVC.

He went on ER after George Clooney left. ER wanted someone who had the George "look." At the time, I thought the two looked so much alike, but now I see they don't. I'm curious who the woman on intervention was on ER. I don't recall anyone who fits the description.

It was Vanessa Marquez. She played a nurse with a high voice. She always wore a cardigan. IMDB
