Okay, so I started reading the recap, and I hit this line:

Michael and Ben got married, but found it was only legal in Canada.

And I had to stop, because what? WHAT? Are you telling me they actually devoted a storyline to those two morons heading to Ontario to get married and, upon arriving back in Pennsylvania, only then realizing the marriage was not valid in the United States? Isn't one of the lesbians a fucking lawyer? Wouldn't she have been able to, you know, inform them of that snag before they road-tripped to the other side of the border? Wouldn't the super-S-M-R-T college professor know in advance that it would amount to nothing more than a symbolic gesture at this point in time, in that state? WHAT? WHAT?

GOD, I HATE this show.

And yet I will not miss an episode of this season, because there is nothing else on TV on Sunday nights. Oy.

Demian you crack me up! The marriage happened during the liberty ride, Ben got rings and everything and I kept wondering why they were so confused, but that's something I didn't touch in the recap, because it was just that dumb and would have warranted 3 pages of ranting!

Ted's story line was soooo stupid!

Amen to that, too. So, he's now only attractive as a fetish to young men?

To be fair, I've always thought Scott Lowell was very good. (Remember that scene where he found his junkie boyfriend unconscious on the stained mattress in the crackhouse? Underscored by the aria from -- what was it? -- La Boheme? Lovely emotional moment, that. And hey! Remember when Ted was the resident opera queen? 'Cause the writers sure as hell don't.)

I absolutely agree. I thought both he and Peter Paige were the best actors on the show. And speaking of things the writers forgot -- (well, other than the BOOK I could write about that) -- anyone else remember Ted's mad crush on Michael that was discovered back in Season 1 after Ted returned from the hospital after being overdosed by his future meth counselor? And the gang opened up his cabinet only to find a stalker-like picture homage to Michael in there? Ah. Yeah. Totally never spoke of again in the ensuing four seasons. Speaking of which, I guess the writers will also forget that Ted is in recovery.

Actually, it was more like rampant and ungovernable shitheadedness and douchebaggery. It got to the point where anyone who realized the show was a big, steaming pile of crap and had the (insert pearl-clutching gasp here) unmitigated gall to say so on the boards was immediately and viciously labelled a homophobe or a self-loathing traitor to The Cause. And on top of all that, the most rabid posters were bragging that they weren't reading the recaps because of all the hatred therein for the odious coupling of Brian and Justin, so, you know, the site basically said, "Screw you."

Oh, cripes. The show is bad - - and I'm certainly no homophobe (unless that word now means 'those who fear bad television'). So, I guess I can't blame TWoP for axing the whole forum.

Years ago, when the show first started and long before I knew what TWoP was, my friend and I used to write email recaps of the show and send them back and forth to one another. It was part of the fun of watching a show where the characters were so woefully one-dimensional and nothing ever changed and no plot was ever advanced -- just resolved and forgotten.

I can't remember where, but I totally mentioned something about Ted's crush. It's not in the recap, but somewhere, gosh that's going to drive me crazy, oh wait, it's in the cast page on the recap site!

It talks about how the writer's must have forgotten about that and how we'll never see Daphne, or Justin's parents ever again!

Did the 2nd ep seem shorter to anyone? And it was so contrived! I'll probably have the recap out Fri or Sat. There was just nothing that happened that wasn't expected. My one laugh out loud moment was when Ted went on and on about LA,NZ guys being all fake and artificial and the boys just stared at him. It was stupid, but it cracked me up!

Oh, Daphne. I think she appeared once (twice?) in S4...I hope for her sake that she finally got sick of Justin and hit the road.

I once tried to recap the entire third season for for my best friend by talking it out...it didn't work very well, because the whole thing was just so monumentally stupid. Restating the plot lines out loud in my own words really emphasized how dumb they were. The best part was when our roommate walked in during it and thought I was talking about people I actually knew -- the look on her face was priceless.

I still say the worst episode was when we met Michael's dad, the drag queen. (Was that the second season?) It was just painful.

The drag queen thing was TEH SUCK! Horrid! I actually hated a whole chunk of the end of season three though Hal Sparks made a My-T-Fine woman, I must say!

I saw part I and II. WTF is up with Brian? He's too stident in his sluttiness. He gives it meaning that it doesn't have. It seems somewhat insincere. He's the kind of guy I'd like to smack upside the head.
