There is a 2-part documentary The Real White Queen presented by Gregory, which was aired after The White Queen.
Also currently there's a 2 part documentary airing on BBC2 covering the Plantagenets.

I didn't watch The White Queen, I only read the reviews, which took note of the poor production values, such as characters walking around castles in which there were tourist guard rails and signs.

I didn't notice (perhaps because I was wikipedia-ing) but I agree...that sort of makes me love it more now. It's trashy fun and, happily as is often the case in historical dramas about this time, no big torture scenes yet. I'm a wuss about those sorts of things.

Double post - but it's been half a year. Anyhoo... The Independence referendum in Scotland (plus..*cough* Outlander) got me wondering about whether or not there are any Jacobite heirs around should Scotland decide to ditch the UK Monarchy. (And, um, the rest of the UK.) Turns out it's this guy, Franz, Duke of Bavaria. That's today's useless info tidbit. |

DNA confirms body IS Richard III and analysis reveals relative of medaeival monarch may have been conceived out of wedlock. Now they're questioning the entire English Royal Family and their line. Good grief!
