No kidding. I always wondered how he would mesh with that particular design philosophy. It makes sense that he turned it down.

Jay doesn't really seem like a Banana Republican to me. Never did. I'm impressed that he had the strength to walk away from a contract that he thought had too many strings! I have to respect him for that. And I think Hobocamp is right - he got a lot of exposure, which might be worth a lot more than that contract. So... now what? Does Kara Saun become the first runner up, who will take over in case Miss Project Runway is unable to fulfill her reign??

Can you see Jay working at Banana Republic as a designer apprentice? I didn't think so. I don't think the prize was actually working at Banana Republic. I think it was a mentorship from the BR design team to help him work on and launch his own line. Though there will simply be no matching the glory of Season 1 to me (because my love for Jay and Austin is so deep and profound), I am enjoying the second season so far—and am hoping for a quick good riddance to Zulema.

Just watched the Barbie challenge episode (3). Don't know anyone's name yet, but the guy who won the first challenge and none since then is a seriously bad loser. I just don't frigging like anyone. And what's up with fey boy? (The guy who had the mental breakdown on the second episode and was almost cut this episode. He gives stupid drama queens a bad name. Seriously, the guy who won this episode totally got the barbie concept right, how genius was the hair and shoe stuff for a Barbie? Anyhow, that is how to be open and gay and not be an asshat.

I think they would have been better off with an empty chair than having that model as a judge.

Damn it. I actually got a little teary watching this elimination. Good bye Daniel. And even though you don’t say it anymore—follow your bliss!
After watching her interview the designers, I have come to a startling realization—I fluve Heidi Klum! Her facial expressions, especially after Daniel Franco’s Lovemaking proposal—ha! Her comment about Zulema’s love of short skirts—so the words out of my mouth. She’s just…dare I say it?...adorable.
Santino? Is an ass.
Diana—I want to like her. But the way she talks drives me insane. The questioning tone and the clenched jaw. She needs to just join the cast of Charmed and be done with it.
Poor Daniel. Would it have killed him to do one lacy bra and panty set?
And my new motto is so going to be: “Out of chaos comes beauty!”

I don't understand why they dismissed Daniel Franco when his designs, though similar, were more interesting and creative than the less similar and more boring, simple, and unsexy lingerie by the other Daniel.
I really hate Diana's designs. She's done the bondagey strands of cloth thing before (or at least something that looks very similar).
I'm disappointed. I know they kept Santino because he is talented, but his outfits looked like Halloween costumes. Ugly ones.

Of course, I also think that TPTB had it in for him. No way was he getting too close to the final round. I have no evidence or even real reason for thinking this of course. Just my paranoid suspicions.

Diana-I want to like her. But the way she talks drives me insane. The questioning tone and the clenched jaw. I watched this tonight and what I noticed most about her is that she does not move her upper lip at all when she speaks. Like a ventriloquist's dummy...weird. And completely annoying.

So annoying. I can't watch her speak. And she's so inarticulate sometimes that I cannot listen to her either.
