I can't be the only one who watched A&E's Rollergirls last night, was I?
I was really looking forward to the show. The commercials made it look sort of cool and I sort of wished I could rollerskate but the show was such a yawn and a half.
They weren't all bad ass and cool, in fact they were all sort of pathetic IMO.
I felt the same way I feel when I watch Reality Bites . . . that maybe I've gotten too old for all this crap.
Anyone else?

You know I watched it last night. Talk about flat and boring. I was sucked in by the promos and was rather disappointed.

I've actually been to the Rollerderby here in Austin, so I was excited for this show. It didn't really sustain my interest though and I was pretty much just half-watching the whole time. The excitement the girls had over TP'ing somebody's house was so high-school and not bad-ass or cool, as Jensational mentioned.
I also could not get over how stupid-hipster Venus Envy's boyfriend's glasses were. I wanted to grab them and stomp on them. Her mom looked just like Jane Pauley.
Since I live in Austin, I will probably give this show another couple tries, but I'm not holding my breath.

I watched it too and found it boring. My Aunt Mary used to watch rollerderby on tv in the 70's. I can't believe it was actually on, but I remember her cracking open a Schaffer and watching it. "Schaffer is the one beer to have when you're having more than one"

LOL! I felt the same way about Reality Bites the first time I saw it... when I was 20-ish. It was just a sucky movie, hands down.
As for Rollergirls, I have nothing to add, except that my nickname to my very best friends is Rollergirl, for reasons semi-related to Boogie Nights. I just don't think the world is ready for a roller derby revolution just yet. Give it two more years.

I watched this last night. What a bunch of boring people. I really didn't care about any of them.
I think the show could be better if they showed more of the "bouts" with a lot less editing. I thought they were interesting, but hard to follow because of all the cuts to show the falls etc.

I specifically didn't watch the show because I got annoyed with the promo during every commercial break during the A&E 24 marathon.
Glad to hear I didn't miss much.
