I remember reading somewhere that Darrin Morgan has personal problems, doesn't like to socialize, and is almost hermit-like. Not sure if that's true or not, but it might explain his sudden disappearance from TV land.
He was an awesomely talented writer on X-files though.

Well, dang. I feel lucky that we got the scripts we did from him, then. I am forever grateful to him for giving the world the line "I'm not going to ask if you said what I think you just said because I know it's what you just said", which has come in quite handy in life.

Although Darin did play Eddi Van Blundt in "Small Potatoes" so he must not be totally hermit and antisocial.

Well, yeah, he also used to collaborate regularly with 1013, and was a friend of Duchovny's. But the account I read implied that he had gotten worse and just couldn't deal anymore, since that time. Sad.

According to IMDB, Morgan was most recently a producer for Night Stalker, last year. Seems to have disappeared from that, though.

After watching it again last night, I've once more affirmed the fact that I don't see anything great in Jose Chung's From Outer Space. There's a couple of fun exchanges, it's a Darin Morgan script, and his stuff is fantastic, it even has Jesse Ventura! But I just don't find it entertaining or understand why others like it so much.
Another unresolved mystery there ...

I love "Jose Chung" just because it's such a silly episode. That show was so great when it relaxed and went for the comedy. "Bad Blood" is a great example of this.
The episode with Peter Boyle is great b/c it has a great moment which I *think* is a reference to an earlier episode "Beyond the Sea" (and the only reason I caught it is b/c the VHS tape my friend gave me had these eps back to back)--in Beyond the Sea the killer played by Brad Dourif is given a piece of blue fabric--goes on and on about how it affects the victims he's trying to track (pretending to be psychic), and it turns out to be a piece of Mulder's Knicks t-shirt. Later in the Peter Boyle episode (Final Repose?) he's getting tested by Mulder, given a piece of blue fabric...asks if it's Mulder's Knicks t-shirt. I was so proud of myself for catching it.

The sequel is back on!?!Ouch. Anyway, I'm happy to hear this news, even if that quote is a wee bit passive-aggressive (I think, anyway).

I read that more like "My career post-files has gone absolutely no where. So yeah, I'm more than happy to step into Mulder's shoes again. I got bills to pay."
I had heard somewhere else recently that this was getting back on track. I think it was Gillian Anderson's manager who recently said that the main thing holding the movie up was the legal battle between Fox and Chris Carter over syndication royalties (or something like that), that it was almost resolved, and Gillian would be happy to do the movie once they put together a good script.
I haven't thought about this show in a long time, but I do miss it. I'll totally see this movie if/when it finally comes out.
