I fell for Harold when Lisa was elimated during the street food competition. As soon as she left the room he said something like, "I'm angry." To which Stephen asked, "Why are you angry?". Then Harold said, "She was my partner, man." Slumped in his chair, arm folded.

I haven't seen this episode yet but it makes me mad on two counts:
One they clearly set up the "Top Chef's" for failure. Having them get their ingredients from a grocery store and giving them 16 hours to prepare? Unless your mom is making your wedding feast -- that's not gonna happen.
And 2:
The grooms didn't get the catering they deserved because of the prank the judges pulled and that sucks.
And Word to the comment about baking. Baking and cooking are taught separately. It takes a different skill set and a different personality to be good at either of them. I'm a competent home cook -- who can cook to recipe and time my food appropriately, but I don't really like it. I'm a darned good baker though and I love baking. Having Chefs and not Bakers make the cake was another messed up decision on the producer and judges part. Not only are they not trained to do that, but a great wedding cake could take days to create.

Nothing to add here, but ITA with everyone else's comments. The chefs were set up, no competent chef would be told at the last second they were preparing a wedding reception for 100 people and only have 16 hours in which to do it and only one store to shop at. Bull. Sh*t.
I'm just thrilled that psychotic Stephen is finally gone. Now if they could just get rid of Jade on Next Top Model, my reality show world would be complete.

At this point I would be happy with anyone except Tiffani winning, and the previews made it look like she's gonna suck next week, so yay! The emotional, slightly bitchy and really shallow side of me *sooooooooooo* agrees with this, but the logical part of me doesn't. You guys know by now that I can't stand Tiffani, but I do want to be be fair. The position is supposed to be that of the Top Chef, bar none, and Tiffani is much more qualified for the task than Dave. B****y arrogant icicle that she is, she still doesn't fall apart under pressure and (almost) consistently produces actually good food. If the purpose is to find someone who is good enough to have their own restaurant and make it, then that egomaniac is more qualified than Dave. I like Dave, I really do. I think he's sweet but he's not top-tier material from a purely objective standpoint. And in some ways, I think he's lucky to have made it this far. It's probably more by default than actual brilliance, imo. So, IOW, I don't think Tiffani will lose next week. I think in this show --- as in many --- the previews are slightly misleading red herrings. But most of all, I don't think that the producers are going to think about keeping on someone who isn't objectively viable at this stage in the game. Earlier yes, some of their decisions may have been affected by ratings, but I think they know the biggest tension will come from a showdown between the 3 truly qualified candidates: Lee Ann, Harold and Tiffani.

Bravo is picking up the show for a second season, and Katie Joel will not be back to helm it!
And as an aside, "Please pack your knives and go" is the dumbest catch phrase ever. It's even lamer than the ones used by Martha's Apprentice show and Rachel Hunter's PR type show. And those were so stupid that I can't even remember them!

I was a little shocked that for all of Stephen's snobbery he did not have enough class to say "thank you for this oppurtunity" because god knows they cut him a few breaks.
Working in that biz I have to say you either work with Uber B*tches like Tiffani and Stephen or real sweethearts like Lee Anne and Harold. The latter could make going to work a pleasure. Either way it's a tough life.

I'll agree that Tiffani is probably a better Top Chef than sweet Dave, because she doesn't crack under pressure... But she survives the pressure by allowing herself to fail with the excuse that she doesn't cook for kids, or she doesn't expect wedding food to be restaurant quality, etc. She's not the Top Chef because she doesn't care about whether the people who eat her food are satisifed. I'd rather eat Dave's cooking, because I know Dave would make a reall effort to appeal to my taste buds, whomever I might be.
Ultimately, it has to be Harold or Lee Anne, though.

Come on harold. You got this baby. Just pull that little pencil from behind your ear and...i can't finish. I'm too hot.
He's taking it all the way, but even if he doesn't he'll be second place and you know he'll be so proud of the actual winner.

Based onthe previews for the next episode, I am guessing (and I promise this is pure speculation) that Lee Anne and Tiffani definitely make it to the final round while the final elimination will be between Harold and Dave. There's a really quick clip of the women at the table where Lee Anne throws her head down and Tiffani seems to be doing a big exhale.
