Michael said in his confessional that all the cheftestants wound up chipping in some of their eggs. Hot DAMN! That was one satisfying episode, I've gotta tell ya. The small handful of people I like won the challenges, and the ever expanding bunch who I can't stand got their asses kicked. I've been dying to see Betty and Frank go home, so last night did not disappoint. The show was one big hightlight after another for me: 1. Marcel ( yaaay!) wins Quickfire, while Betty ( HA! Suck it, hag!) is in the bottom ranking. 2. Elia ( whom I adore) wins the elimation challenge, up against Betty and Mia ( neither of whom I can stand). 3. Frank the psycho jerk goes home, while Mr. Perfect Sam ( who also gets on my nerves) is in the bottom two. The only way it could have been a more perfect episode for me is if Marcel had won Elimination as well, and if Betty had been sent home. But I was still pretty damn happy with the outcome - enough so that I watched it again at 11 PM to gloat. ;D Marcel's Immunity Dance was hilarious.

I missed Michael's confessional, but then again I was watching the show at 2AM, so I was nodding off during parts of it. I'll have to catch it on one of the 700 re-runs!
I was also glad to see Sam in the bottom three. He seems to have a fairly high opinion of himself. I would love to see Elia go all the way.

I loved this episode, if only for the seagulls. It was kind of cute when all the chefs started playing in the water, too.
Elia's dish, with the waffles and ham and whatnot, was unusual, but sounded interesting. I'd order that in a restaurant.

I've gone from strongly disliking Marcel to thinking he's kind of adorable. First, the immunity dance, then the frolicking in the waves...he's such a nerd, and I love nerds.
And Frank's greasy, fat, belligerant beer belly and bad sinuses will not be missed. Note to him: Tony Soprano, whom you appear to idolize, is NOT a gentleman. So either get a new hero, or change your catchphrase.

I despise eggs, so none of the dishes sounded very good to me--but Elia's seemed the most innovative.
I'm actually surprised Sam wasn't the one to go. His "toad in the hole" looked a mess.

Is it just me, or did the guest judge put way too much emphasis on presentation? That seemed to be the sole criterion he used for judging. Also, I think I'm getting a huge crush on Tom.

What a crappy scenario to make them cook in. What's next? Cooking a vegatarian meal in a slaughter house. It seems like they needed this to get rid of a good chef. Yeah, but it's okay because they got rid of Frank instead - haaa! Seriously though, I do disagree with ya - the point of this show is that they should be able to be adaptable enough to cook anywhere, to be prepared for anything. And that's what the challenge was. Actually, the Quickfire was the perfect preparation for the big challenge - they should have all taken it as a hint. By telling them in QF "You can't cook anything", they should have been prepared when Padma then told them, "We're not telling you what your kitchen conditions will be." I'd have taken that as - okay, there's a good possibility it'll be like QF and I won't have a stove or an oven. Michael's idea to do a breakfast burrito/taco with the pre-cooked chicken? Brilliant. I don't know why he even bothered with the eggs. I would have hoped that there was something to cook with, but I would have also come up with a back-up dish and ingredients in case there was no stove or oven. I mean, they should really be on their toes for this stuff by now.

I would not have given Michael any eggs. He's a nice enough guy and I'm actually a really nice person in real life (no, really!) but dude needs to get his shit together. Why should his competitors bail him out? That's not fair.

I was so happy to see Frank leave. Next on my list is Mia. Did anyone notice that she always speaks positively about her abilities? For the uncooked challenge at the beginning of the show, Mia says, "this was going to be really easy for me because I eat raw foods... blah blah blah." For the grill challenge, Mia says, "this was going to be really easy for me as I cook for cowboys... blah blah blah."
Betty still bugs.
I heart Marcel and Elia.
Did Cliff get a bit of an attitude with the judges? Is this foreshadowing?
Sam, always the devil, appeared to give Michael the eggs AFTER Betty offered. I could see his pea brain thinking that he better give an egg or two just so that he looks like he is one of the good guys. Remember, Sam is the instigator of the Frank toothbrush fight.
There should have been two eliminations. Sam's dish was charred. How can you serve charred food? Is that healthy? There was one surfer boy who I think had second thoughts about eating it.
