Is it just me, or has everyone on Dr. Phil been a complete dumbass this week??
Today is the doughy loser whose (gorgeous!) wife is not good enough for him. I am wincing as he speaks about her and cringing at her reactions. There are so many men who would kill to have a woman like her.
Grrr..... I HATE people!

Is it just me, or has everyone on Dr. Phil been a complete dumbass this week?? This WEEK? I feel like everyone associated with Dr. Phil has been a complete dumbass since the show first came on. Well, that's not fair. He seemed rather cool on Oprah so I pretty much only blame people who have been on his show since he started the whole diet plan. At that point they should have known he was a sham.

God, I loathe Dr. Phil. I'm not entirely sure at what point he turned from Oprah's sensible smackdown guy into the obnoxious, sexist, annoying asshole he is now, but it seems to have gone hand-in-hand with his wife's increasingly obvious plastic surgery.

I can't believe I'm posting twice in his thread.
Yes, he used to be the sensible smackdown guy. But even back then I never was quite sure how much of that is doctoring. If that makes sense. Let me explain, in college I was a bit of an asshole and thought that it was OK for me to be an absolute tactless jerk to my friends under the guise of "Hey, I'm just being honest." Granted, sometimes they really did need to hear the truth. Like the friend who was dating the guy three years younger than her (not that it's a big deal in normal life but this was college, a lot of growin' happens in three years) and he impregnated his high school girlfriend during a break but she was still like "Maybe we'll get back together" and I'd be all Dr. Philish and say "He's an asshole. He never respected you which is obvious from the fact that he knocked someone else up while you were together. Get over it. You deserve better." and they'd cry but I'd be like "Hey, I'm just being honest!" I wasn't a therapist, hell, I didn't even have a bachelor's degree.
Dr. Phil is a lot like that to me. Telling someone the bitter ugly truth is not therapy. In fact, most people on his show don't appear to really be ready to hear the truth and therefore they sit there smiling blankly in their happy veil of denial.
It all seems very humiliating and mean-spirited. I remember one episode that featured a loud-talker. This woman had a loud voice and interrupted people and talked over them all the time. Her family contacted the Dr. Phil show. He sat there and was like "No one wants to hear what you have to say ALL the time! You are ANNOYING!" and then they showed her the clips of her family bitching about how they can't get a word in edgewise and the woman just sat there crying and looking really really embarassed. I'm sure she changed but was that the best way to tell her? Having some bald bastard from Texas scream at her on national tv?

In contrast though, the no-weenie dad who threw away his daughter in favor of his new wife deserved every verbal smackdown that Dr. Phil could dish out. I would have called CPS right then and there.

I just wonder why Robyn feels the need to be at EVERY SINGLE SHOW. Her trophy wife shtick really kinda creeps me out. Never has a woman needed a life more than this chick.

I wonder the same thing, but the wife needs that seat in the audience, because she has no talent. I say this because I saw her interior decoration of their home's foyer, which consisted of huge ass black iron fountain, surrounded by black iron railing on the stairs. It was so ugly, and never needed to be inside anyone's home.

I am not sure if it allowed to say but the best time to watch Dr.Phil is high. The guy has such a shiny head and those long chairs, you can not help but to just start to stare at it.
It seems like he is sometimes verbally abusing the people on his show. Not just giving them advice, or trying to expain some commen sense things but really putting them down.

Dr. Phil bugs.
I saw an episode a while back that really pissed me off. It was about this twentyish woman who loved shopping for designer clothes and shoes but hated to work hard, so she was often taking jobs as a showgirl in Las Vegas, then going home to buy more clothes. Then she'd be broke again and go back to Vegas to dance some more, and then she'd go shopping. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Well, Dr. Phil just drug her over the coals. He was all, "Yew have no respect fer yerself!" in that ugly voice of his. WTF? I'm not saying her lifestyle was ideal, but hey, she worked for her money, she didn't go into debt buying her expensive clothes. She had no children to take care of, so it wasn't like she was distrupting their lives by taking them to Vegas on and off. But Dr. Phil treated her like she was utter trash for being a showgirl. He kept harping on the fact she had nieces to be a role model for. WTF? Isn't that their parents' job, not their aunt's? I just thought he was totally out of line to keep telling her how much she hated herself. If she wants to blow all her money on Gucci shoes, that's her business. Yeah, she'll probably be sorry later when she's older and has no savings, but Dr. Phil never brought that up, he just kept with the "Yew don't like yerself" bull. It was so lame.
Besides, isn't his own son going to marry a Playboy model?! I guess his daughter-in-law-to-be doesn't like herself!
