Heh. He does seem to spend most of his time taking care of things at home, but I guess that is just to further illustrate how Brenda is really married to her job.
But I just read that Amy Sedaris is going to play Fritz's sister in an upcoming episode, so that puts a huge plus in his column for me.

It was good to see this show back. The cast works so well together, they're fun to watch.

This really is a fantastic show. I cried terribly for Kitty and poor Brenda during this last episode. Turns out that the cat who played Kitty died in real life. *sobs* We'll see you just beyond the rainbow bridge, Miss Kitty. I am confused as to what's going on with Provenza. I've missed a few episodes here and there though, so maybe that's why. Can anyone shed any light on what's going on with him? He's unusually sunny.

I think I read that he has found a lady friend.
That's sad about Kitty.

Just watched the episode with Jake. Gah. This show really knows how to kill me. Brenda being his "mom" was so sad to watch. I cried at this one too.
I'm finishing watching the "Ninja" episode now. Maybe it's because I lived along I-10 for so many years, but I knew that the killer was using the highway way before the Texas lawman came and showed them. LA & El Paso? The major connection is I-10. I'm also a little confused on this one - seems like the FBI would have been more involved to begin with given the amount of unsoved murders along that route. Oh well, I can forgive the show this one.
I'm torn on Charlie - I kind of liked the way she was used in the show, but I also fear the shark-jumping that introducing a kid usually means. Until next season...

Has anyone else been watching this summer? I think the past couple of episodes have been some of the best in years. I love the slow exploration of the consequences of Brenda's action last season.

I have been watching the new episodes also, and this will be one show that I will definitely miss when it's gone.

This. I'm really bummed about this being the last season, but this particular story arc is very interesting. I really hope it doesn't end with something devastating happening to Brenda or the team...but I'll still be glued! Since Monday's episode, now we have to worry about a leak? Who do you think it may be?

Love this show to pieces and will miss it like crazy once it's gone. This week's villain, Martin something-or-other, was one scary mofo. I was fearing for Brenda's life and had completely spaced the fact that "Fritz needed half an hour". Duh. They were bugging the place. And J-rock's own brother killed him for $10k? Jesus. And Fritz saves the day again!
So after this season finale (last series episodes to air in the summer), I just have one nagging question: WHO THE HELL IS THE LEAK?! Gah. It's killing me. I have to admit that I'm considering Gabriel since he seems to have the highest ideals and maybe felt guilty about leaving Tyrell to die. He did say something to Brenda about it in the car after all. All of the others (except Tao, I guess) have done questionable things, so I can't see them turning on her. I don't think that Cmdr Taylor and the audio/visual geek knew enough of the details of the original case to be the leak, and Taylor is certainly the more obvious choice. The funny thing about this whole mess is that even though I cheered her decision to let the murderous Tyrell fend for himself...I am nagged by the feeling that she did do something wrong. This is why I love this show so much. It has a lot of ambiguity to it - that seems to be rare for a cop show.
Read that Capt Raider (heh, as in Cylon raider - go BSG!) will be the focus of the next show, and that it may be called "Major Crimes". I love Capt Raider, so that works for me! Hope that Taylor and Provenza are part of that cast too. Maybe that means Brenda leaves with Fritz to another post (either willfully or not.)
Also read that the lawyer rapist will be featured in the last episodes. If the firebug comes back, my favorite villains list will be complete. C'mon O'Mara, you can't be busy with Borranova still.
