We watched the first hour and then gave up. It was too painfully bad. We were still complaining about how bad it was this morning. I was particularly annoyed by the inclusion of the hot tub. How is that even remotely appropriate for a teen show? It's not like it was even numbers of girls and guys in the hot tub. It was three girls and one guy. Way to encourage the objectification of girls. Having Ludacris hanging out there at the hot tub rather than "presenting" the award was just as bad. Just another reason why I don't want kids. This way I don't have to sit the kid down and explain why so much of this show was wrong on so many levels.
I felt bad for the people there like Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, etc., who looked incredibly uncomfortable with the whole thing.
The only way the show could have redeemed itself would have been to have Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey both chosen as "hotties" who had to accept the award at the same time. That would have been hysterical! Pehaps a bit mean, but still hysterical!
