I think Jennifer and the Legion are the good guys. I definitely didn't expect the prime object to be human. It was freaky when the woman appeared in the room.

What did the jewelry box do? I didn't understand. Things didn't calm down until Joe used the comb.

I definitely did NOT understand what the jewelry box was about. Preventing decay doesn't seem to have anything to do with the woman in the room. I hope that the stuff they come up with to explain this isn't so hard to understand that they lose us all.

ETA: Did they get the woman out of room 9 and she died? Was she corporial?

ETA: Does this show remind you of a show from the late 80s called "Friday the 13th?" Here's a wikipedia description of that show:

An antiques dealer named Lewis Vendredi (played by Robert Golden Armstrong) made a deal with the Devil to sell cursed antiques out of his shop, “Vendredi’s Antiques”, in exchange for wealth and immortality. He eventually grew tired of being the Devil’s puppet and broke the deal. The Devil came and claimed the soul of Vendredi (Friday in French) before he could recover the antiques.

The task of recovering the cursed objects then fell to the three protagonists of the show:

Micki Foster (played by Louise Robey) - Vendredi’s niece
Ryan Dallion (played by John D. LeMay) - Vendredi’s nephew, Micki’s cousin
Jack Marshak (played by Chris Wiggins) - Vendredi’s friend, a retired world-traveller who originally collected many of the antiques for Vendredi before they became cursed
The series follows the protagonists as they hunt down the cursed antiques, which are usually in the possession of people who have discovered their evil powers and are reluctant to give them up. Since the cursed antiques are completely indestructible, the ones that the group acquires are locked away in a vault beneath “Curious Goods,” the rechristened antique store. Occasionally, there would be an episode in which the trio would have to confront their uncle’s spirit or would fail to obtain a cursed object, and the search would be continued in another episode.

Most of the stories in the series deal with people using the cursed objects for their own personal gain. All of the cursed objects grant either the user’s deepest desire or some extraordinary power. However, the curse always requires that someone die at the hands of the cursed object. For example, there is a cursed scalpel that gives a surgeon the ability to cure anyone, but in order for the scalpel to work, the surgeon will need to kill someone else with it beforehand. In most instances, the person using the cursed object ends up becoming a victim of the object’s curse.

I found myself being overly critical of the show -- there were a few outrageous edits, a little too Stephen King-y in places -- but, ultimately, it was a good ride. It really did feel, at finish, like it was produced with the same end in mind as the BSG miniseries -- if it's a hit, it becomes a series, if not, a decent movie.

There was some serious mancandy in the show, too (for my peculiar tastes, that is): Krause, of course, who can not just sell any emotional scene but is so damned sexy. Roger Bart, who is arrestingly hot, even when he plays a weasel. And the female cast was good, too, even though I'm no fan of Juliana Marguiles. April Grace, who is gorgeous and seriously, seriously underused. Margaret Cho, who's a giggle when she plays it straight.

Someone needs to tell me who played Eddie McCloyster (Eddie McCleister?) -- the Occupant. Because he's starting to occupy my daydreams. He's not listed on IMDb or SciFi.

So... now Joe Miller is indestructible, and doesn't age, when he's not in the room? I want that job!

The show definitely had some plot holes that you could drive a truck through, but overall it's an interesting premise adn could make a good series if they could tighten it up. Plus the aforementioned man candy would be delightful to see on a regular basis.

I just saw the guy who played the Occupant on something else. I'll think on it and do some research and come back with a name. It's a purty, purty boy, that's for sure!

That's him, I've seen him on Stargate and the Ghost Whisperer. Oh, and recently on a rerun of Law and Order: Criminal Intent where he tried to make his eight-year-old son into a boy genius and killed his evaluator thinking that she wouldn't recommend the boy for early college admission.

And... I can quite easily imagine spending a great deal of time in Room 10 with him

In other news, here are two things I would covet:
1) a peek at the series' "book", that is, the Rules Book which the creator made for all of the properties of The Room and The Objects. All series have them, of character traits, backgrounds, etc, which are eventually revealed in episodes but rarely made explicit.
2) how much do I want a "Room 10, Sunshine Motel" key tag? I'm shocked, utterly shocked that the stuff on eBay is so lame.
