I am sorry y'all, but I just think she looks ridiculous in that picture. It's her wedding, and there is such deadness in her eyes. Is she tired? She is not actually wearing a sari, it looks like a beaded gown with the wrap on her head and shoulders. A true sari looks like the lady behind her on the right. The scary kid in the picture in not helping either. I say this marriage lasts about 6 years. ETA: I know there is a name for the fabric that goes on her head, but it's not coming to me right now. She's definately wearing a sari in the second photo. I agree she looks very out of it, but very pretty at the same time.

ETA: I know there is a name for the fabric that goes on her head, but it's not coming to me right now. It's a dupatta. Liz (in the picture on the stairs) isn't wearing a sari, nor is she wearing a lengha choli. Looks like she's wearing a gown made to look a bit Indian. As a mehendi artist I just gotta say...I am disappointed in the mehendi she had done. I was thinking she would have something more elaborate and attractive. I know there's pictures out there somewhere of it, I just can't remember where I saw some.

Already friction with the family. Apparently, Arun's family, in particular his father have completely cut ties with him over the wedding stuff. Wow. Father In Law Humiliated By Wedding.

Elizabeth at her Indian wedding. I think she looks prettier there than at her English wedding. It must be the pink. Gotta love how pissed Damien looks for having to wear the slippers (which I love!) Is that Trinny in the background as bridesmaid? That dress she's wearing is against her own rules for small-busted lovlies (never low cut). Nice to know that even in fancy-schmancy weddings, the bride still chooses something unbecoming for her attendants. Damien always looks like that - child's a BingFace.

Yeah it's Trinny - I know what you mean about the dress, I think Trinny is beautiful though. The woman in pink is Liz's sister, don't know who the others are.

Yes Trinny does look lovely even though she's in the 'wrong' dress. Geez the sister looks unhappy to the highest.
I think Liz looks kinda manly and homely in that first one - she's an interesting look - when you pull apart all her features there's nothing there, but when you put them together there is something. But not in that first shot.

I gave Liz the benefit of the doubt that her circus wedding wasn't all just for show and for publicity, but hearing family say they were brushed aside makes the whole thing seem really disgusting.

Here the whole story A lot of it sounds like the usual friction when the groom's family doesn't like the bride or vice versa. Throw in a celebrity magazine deal and a you have a person disowning his son. The dad has a nice flair for the dramatic, not only disowning his son but announcing it to the world. That makes me question some of his account.

I read in today's Daily Mail that Liz is absolutely furious that they have said anything, and that she expected them to be grateful because she has raised their social standing in India:
I dunno - I think to make a career out of wearing small sizes (as Liz has) you have to be pretty much ruthlessly ambitious, and her one-small-meal-a-day diet shows she's determined to get what she wants. I could believe she's pretty unpleasant to those who show any resistance.

I'm not a fan of Liz although I do think she looked absolutely sensational in Austin Powers.
But I wonder if the whole thing has been mostly down to a culture clash? Sometimes misunderstandings blow up out of proportion when expectations and traditions are different. If you add into the mix dramatic and over-inflated egos and celebrity then perhaps it was a disaster waiting to happen?
