I can't hate on Vicki because I really respect that she works hard for her money. I really like that she isn't a golddigger and like she says, "If Don left, I could survive." And I really don't think any of these other woman could, so I respect that. Also I think she is sillly and fun and cute! Oh God, what is happening to me?

The situation between Laurie and her son is sad and disturbing. I read the O.C. articles. Apparently, he was living with Gina Peterson, the ex-wife of Laurie's fiancé, George.

'Housewives' son lashes out at his mom

Lauri tells amuch different story, and we'll get to it. But what follows today is Josh's version: About this time last year, he and some underage friends – including George's and Gina's son – were out late one night in Lauri's car and got pulled over for a curfew violation. Lauri was in New York City with George, so Gina took in Josh. The curfew bust was a violation of his probation for his earlier drug problems. When Lauri returned, she signed him over to the state, which put him in a treatment center in Apple Valley. He remained there until December, when he turned 18 and was released. He was clean when he left, Josh says, and remains clean.

Lauri, who had moved into George's Newport Beach house by then, allowed Josh to stay in her Ladera Ranch townhouse and use her car. One of the rules was: no parties. She came by one night to discover about five of his friends in the home, which Josh says didn't constitute a "party," and kicked him out. No clothes, he says, and no car. He had earned his high school diploma and was to start at Saddleback College. Without a car, he had to drop out. He now lives with Gina, whom his mother reviles and who is locked in a prolonged custody battle with George.

"She has changed," Josh says of his mom. "She's a different person. I don't know if the show went to her head, or what. At one point, she went off to Europe (with George) and left me with the home and the car. I don't think she wanted to parent me."

Lauri says Josh broke their pact

Josh, as we all know, had problems with drugs and alcohol during high school. When he violated his probation, he was sent to a rehab place in Apple Valley. Josh says Lauri committed him. Lauri says a judge did, but she did sign the papers.

"He had burned through all his family members," she told me. "He needed a treatment program."

When Josh finally got out in December, Lauri says, she let him live rent-free at her Ladera Ranch townhouse and use her car. The ground rules: No cigarettes, alcohol or drugs in home or car; no more than one guest in the home. These were worked out in conjunction with a counselor, and she followed the counselor's recommendation that Josh get no second chances if he screwed up. He had been given plenty of chances in the past. "I felt Josh was making a turn for the better," she told me. "I really felt we made headway."

One night two weeks after the deal was struck, Lauri says, she made an unannounced visit and found Josh, about nine friends, empty cases of beer, marijuana, and people smoking cigars. She ordered Josh out the next morning. He took any clothes that he wanted at that time and left very few behind, she says.

What about Josh's allegation that she abandoned parenting him in favor of living the good life with millionaire boyfriend George Peterson?

"Josh abandoned his home, abandoned his family," she says. "He is my son, but I will not enable him. … For the last five years, I've given up my life for him. He has to accept responsibility for himself."

Does she object to Josh living with George's ex-wife, Gina?

"Absolutely," she says, although she wouldn't specify why because "there's litigation. The only reason he is with Gina is because I told him he couldn't live there."

As for forcing him to drop out of college because she took his car, she says, "I went to college and I didn't have a car, so that's a weak excuse."

I talked to Josh yesterday. He vigorously denies his mother's version of the "party" at the townhouse, says there were only six people, no drugs or cigars, and that an empty beer case on the top of the refrigerator had been there for "who knows how long." The rule was "no parties," he says, not how many friends could visit, and what he and his friends were doing didn't constitute a party.

This is about Gina and George's custody battle but has an update on where Josh is now:

Gina gave Pollarddeclarations written by three of her children in which they say they want to live with her. "I really just want to live with my mommy," 10-year-old Bria scrawled. If I quoted any more, I'd have readers crying all over the county. Fifteen-year-old Slayte's declaration is so full of spite toward George that not even a bottom-dweller like me can bring himself to quote from it. Gina also submitted declarations showing that the people staying with her, including Josh, have moved out...

....Late in theday, I called Josh. The big news is, a guy I put him in touch with has given him a job servicing vending machines, and he gets use of a truck. He's living with his father in Mission Viejo.

"You can't screw this up," I told him. "A lot of people went out on a limb for you."

"I know, that's what Gina said, too," he replied, sounding excited. "I'm going to have to do a good job."

I can't believe how riled up these people get me. Slade and Jo truly...deserve each other. Take that as you will. I do have varying degrees of hope for the other moms (minus the one with the melting face; she's just weird).

Jo and Slade are just really, really bad actors. The speeches, the calculated movements, the dramatic pauses - it's like watching a telenovela.

According to this article, Josh is in jail on an auto-theft charge.

In other, awesome article news, there's this article in the LA Times about the show. Slade says he's producing a show featuring Jo called "Just Jo." Please excuse me while I go barf.

Who in the hell would want to watch a show with Jo alone? She not even a villian you love to hate. Most people just want her to go away.
