Was that Kellie Martin movie "The Face on the Milk Carton" or whatever a Lifetime movie? One of my buddies from an acting class played one of her friends in it. Oh the fun we had in college tormenting her when they played that fifty thousand times a day for awhile.
And thanks to you guys, my netflix queue is filled with all these movies. My boyfriend is going to dump me.

My dad loves Lifetime movies. I used to go into the living room to get something and he'd try to change the channel as fast as he could so we wouldn't catch him watching one. I remember one where the crazy guy from the A-team kept trying to kill his wife. I think he pushed her off a horse, she hit her head on a rock, and survived.

So many great Lifetime and Lifetime-esque movies that they now play on Lifetime and LMN.
One great one is called "Wife...Mother...Murderer," and features Judith Light and the guy who plays Charles Winchester on MASH. She fakes her own death and comes back as her "twin sister" and marries Charles. Her death scene is, of course, hilarious.
"Kate's Secret" featuring a "Family Ties"-era Meredith Baxter-Birney as the bulimic mom. I mean, I know we shouldn't make fun of it, but my friend and I always crack up about the scenes when she goes through the drive-through and orders a bunch of fish sandwiches, and also when she starts scarfing down all of the table scraps from her husband's big business dinner.
"Dying to Dance" with Robin Scorpio from GH, Dawson's mom, and Rick Springfield. Bonus jollies when Robin tries to score some speed in the alley to assist her weight loss. You see, she's dying to dance.
"A Secret Between Friends" with Lynda Carter as a bulimic's mom. Marley Shelton is the other girl's bulimic friend and she dies.
Of COURSE, "A Friend to Die For" or "Death of a Cheerleader." So awesome. I love when they do their stupid joyride around town and get mayonnaise slopped on their faces. WTF?
The Betty Broderick Story.
"On the Edge of Innocence" with Kellie Martin in the crazy house!
"The Story of Laurie Kellogg," or whatever, when Jennie Garth marries too young, gets abused, may or may not have killed her husband, and roller skates a LOT.
Finally, "Shattered Hearts," the most non-heart-wrenching story about a teen's struggle with cancer. It's got a bunch of people in it I don't know or care about. The head football player gets cancer and his girlfriend is really annoying. He gets over it, and then gets it again, or something else, and as he's going in to get operated on, he gives annoying girlfriend the Thumbs Up of Impending Doom. Cut to: FUNERAL PROCESSION. At the end they dedicate the football field to the cancer guy, and put this big pencil sketch-looking drawing of his face on the scoreboard. It is HILARIOUS.

When I was little, occassionally my sister would pop a video into the VCR and record whatever just so happened to be on. And she happened to record this so I watched it numerous times between the ages of 5-10. Gosh, I remember thinking it made bulimia look so cool. Like, you could eat all the cake you wanted and not get fat. I think some bulimic lady died in the end and I had no problem overlooking that small detail. These TV movies/afterschool specials about eating disorders, drug use, teenage sex, teenage drinking, etc, always had the complete opposite effect on me as they were supposed to have. I remember posting at Snarkfest once how even "Requiem for a Dream" made drug use look cool to me, and all the posters clearly thought I was crazy.

"Kate's Secret" is okay, except for the scene where she goes crazy in the kitchen and the scene where she eats everything in the grocery store. I LOVE a "Secret Between Friends!" "Shattered Hearts" was just on tv this weekend. I had it on because nothing else was on tv. It's pretty lame, but if it's on again, yeah I'll probably be watching it. Another good one is with Tracy Gold pretending to be a college student, who she has killed and stuffed into her suitcase. She then tries to seduce her roommate's father (Perry King, I think) and has a love painting.

I just saw one this weekend with Aunt Becky from Full House and damn it, I could not change the channel. It was called "Deceived and Abandoned", about a woman who starts a group to force deadbeat divorced dads to pay child support. I was so mad when it was over I wanted to give the finger to every divorced dad I see, without even knowing whether they pay support willingly or not. Her husband in the film actually said "I just want to get on with my life" when she confronts him about where her child support payments are. I can't believe men actually say that, and I know there are men out there that do.

whatever, that's one of my all-time favorites. It was on last Sunday, and I was very bitter because my cable box is selective; LMN comes in, but actual Lifetime doesn't. So my sister next door was watching, and I was stuck with flipping channels. And it was my birthday, so I should have gotten to watch! /end bratty little sister segment.

There's an awesome one with Richard Grieco where he raped a chick while wearing a ski mask and then later dated and married her and she had no idea she was married to her rapist. Just horrifyingly horrifying. It made me go to IMDB where I was shocked that it was written by a woman.
There's another cool one with Yasmine Bleeth where she gets her face all carved up and then has plastic surgery and looks EXACTLY like she did prior only sans scars but suddenly no one recognizes her and she's able to exact revenge on her rather dim-witted husband.
Friends till the end is awesome because Shannon Doherty sings in it. I love that one.

Yes! I remember that one. It was really awful. The only thing I remember about that movie was that the sister of the girl who was raped decorated the raped girls home with carpet squares because she couldn't afford real carpet. Tons and tons of carpet squares.

Yes! And everyone acted like it was a great campy thing to do instead of an absolutely horrifyingly stupid and tacky thing to do. But they were poor. And needed carpet. They were poor because Richard Grieco turned into an angry lazy drunk because it was so hard to deal with the guilt of being a rapist. Poor poor Grieco
