Anyone else watch this? I'd been a little put off by all the "From the Makers of...." hype but decided to take a peek. Not as bad as feared. The plot's pretty far-fetched but the actors were good overall, and a couple are likeable. The actor who plays Tommy is good and has an interesting face as opposed to being the pretty boy who's usually cast as lead. The guy who plays Jimmy, who's supposed to be the resident badass/psychopath, is a little too Sean Astin for my tastes, but could be worse.
Reminded me a little of both Sleepers and Good Will Hunting.
Oh, and Kirk Acevedo! WHY, oh why is there not more Kirk Acevedo on television? I can find friggin' Ray Romano at any hour of the day, but Kirk they keep hidden?

I thought this was great, but then my boyfriend got home and had to watch his stupid recorded episode of stupid Prison Break. I guess I'll catch this again on Thursday. The actor who plays Tommy is smoking hot to me.

It seems interesting and I'm willing to give it a chance.
And yeah, when I saw saw Kirk Acevedo's name in the credits, I felt all warm & tingly inside (squee!).

Beyond the fact that Tommy looked like the child of a union between Christian Bale and David Moscow (conceived on the set of Newsies, I guess) which totally freaked me out, I thought this was pretty decent and has potential. If nothing else, it's way better than Studio 60, which we were previously continuing to sit through, amazed by how it just kept getting worse and worse.

I thought it was pretty good. The first half hour or so I was having a hard time keeping track of who all the characters were and I wasn't really all that impressed with it. But the last 10 minutes or so were really strong, imo, and they definitely cemented my decision to tune in next week.
I can see why the ratings dropped after the first half hour, but I'm glad I stuck around because it did pay off in the end.

I hated all the Irish people on this show. I want Kirk Acevedo (Nicky) and the rest of the Italians to kick a bunch of Irish ass.

I tried to sit though it but it didn't really interest me. What bugged me is that no one seemed to be very likable, and even the lead kid (Tommy, right?) was kind of an ass. I only got through about half of it, but if the last 10 minutes help redeem it, I might try again. The pilot is free download on iTunes this week, if anyone else wants another viewing.

Reminded me a little of both Sleepers and Good Will Hunting. It's funny you say that because the guy playing Tommy was in Sleepers. He was one of the boys that gets abused by Kevin Bacon's character in the detention center.

Coincidentally his character's name was also Tommy.

Oh, I missed this. From the commercial it look like a serial version of my nomination for the WorstMovie Ever, The Boondock Saints. I totally forgot it was on, so I'll watch it next week. I also got the vibe that it was a leetle on the bandy-legged, who's got me lucky charms? sort of "oirish Americans". Was it just me?
